During today’s first session at the Life Insurers Council Operations & Technology Summit, Mike Allee, FLMI, PMP suggests that it may be time to re-think what’s off the table due to advances in thinking around digital tools and new consumer expectations.

Complexity isn’t slowing insurance down, it’s exposing where operating models are no longer fit for purpose. Thank you to everyone who joined us for our latest INFUSE webinar, From Linear to Layered: Rethinking Insurance Operating Models for 2026. We were pleased to bring together Emma Davies, Founder, Waystone Consulting Limited, Kristian Feldborg, CTO, OneAdvent, and Bijal Patel, Co-Founder Aurora for a thoughtful discussion moderated by Tony Tarquini. One clear takeaway from the conversation: without data standardisation, there is no trust and without trust, neither underwriting decisions nor automation can succeed. After attending a few conferences centered around modernizing the insurance industry, one recurring theme stood out: many organizations are still heavily reliant on manual processes for critical operations. From licensing and appointments to onboarding and downline management, a lot of teams are spending valuable time navigating workflows that are often fragmented and operationally heavy. It's interesting to see how much conversation is happening around efficiency, automation, and creating better systems; not just to move faster, but to reduce friction internally and improve the overall experience for agencies and producers alike. The industry is clearly evolving, and the push toward more streamlined operations is becoming less of a future conversation and more of a present necessity. Speed is becoming a competitive advantage in insurance . Not just in claims—but in how quickly you can go live. Traditionally, launching insurance meant months of setup, regulatory complexity, and operational overhead. Today, that’s changing 💡 With API-led platforms, companies can embed insurance into their existing journeys in weeks—not months. That shift isn’t just about efficiency. It’s about capturing the moment when customer intent is highest. And that’s where real adoption happens ✅ (This transition toward faster, embedded distribution is widely noted across industry reports by firms like McKinsey.) — In your view, is speed now the biggest differentiator in insurance distribution? #api #embeddedinsurance #insurtech #insurancedistribution

Insurance is not just about policies. It is about trust. And trust is built by the people who guide customers through important life decisions. Platforms can simplify processes. Technology can improve speed. But confidence still comes from the right advisor. At Coveresy, we believe advisors are not just sellers they are trust builders. That’s why we are building a system where advisors are empowered with technology, transparency, and long-term growth. Because great insurance starts with trusted guidance. #Coveresy #InsuranceAdvisors #TrustFirst #FutureOfInsurance #InsurTech #AdvisorNetwork #HumanFirst
