Strengthening Zimbabwe’s Future Through Immunization As we observe World Immunization Week, the CWGH emphasizes that vaccines are a critical tool for human capital development. The theme "For every generation, vaccines work" highlights that immunization is a cross-cutting necessity - from pediatric care to adult health. To sustain our health gains, we advocate for: i) Strategic Resource Allocation: Ensuring the national budget reflects the urgency of vaccine procurement and distribution. ii) Public-Private Partnerships: Collaborative efforts to reach 100% immunization coverage. iii) Community Accountability: Empowering local leaders to champion vaccination uptake. Investments in vaccines today prevent the high costs of disease outbreaks tomorrow. Let’s work together for a resilient, immunized Zimbabwe. #WorldImmunizationWeek #HealthSystems #VaccineEquity #ZimbabweHealth #EconomicDevelopment

Reaching the missed remains one of the most persistent challenges in immunization. In Pakistan, vaccines are available, yet gaps in coverage continue to leave children unprotected. When children are missed, the risk of preventable diseases remains, making it critical to strengthen how immunization is delivered. At Rayn, we have supported efforts to improve how immunization activities are tracked, understood, and acted upon. By strengthening systems through the use of technology, and enabling frontline workers with better visibility and access to timely data, teams are able to identify missed areas, respond to gaps, and reach children who were previously left out. This World Immunization Week, we reflect on the importance of strengthening systems with technology to ensure no one is left behind. #Rayn #RaynForPublicHealth #PublicHealth #WorldImmunizationWeek #EquityInHealth #ZeroDose #VaccinesWork #TechForHealth World Health Organization UNICEF Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance Gates Foundation UNICEF Pakistan

For every generation, vaccines work—but only when systems work for people. This #WorldImmunizationWeek, we’re shining a light on the systems behind every vaccine delivered. From health workers and community volunteers to supply chains and trusted conversations, immunization doesn’t happen by accident—it happens by design. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, VillageReach is working alongside governments and communities through an approach to strengthen routine immunization, so services are responsive, reliable and reach children who have too often been left out. 💡 When immunization systems are designed around people’s needs, vaccines can protect every generation, no matter where they live. 📽️ Watch how this work comes to life in communities: https://bit.ly/4uHKpb8 #WorldImmunizationWeek #VaccinesWork #ForEveryGeneration #Immunization #GlobalHealth #HealthEquity #CommunityHealth #VillageReach #WIW2026

Reflecting on World Immunization Week 2026, I am proud to share our contribution to “making vaccines work in our generation” through implementation research that informs decision-making for the Expanded Program on Immunization in Mozambique: https://lnkd.in/dgby65fz The team I led at INS had the privilege of participating in the MAINSTREAM initiative, funded by the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research. Alongside other leading institutions, we mentored local investigators, strengthening their capacity to conduct implementation research and generating evidence to improve immunization outcomes. The initiative produced practical and actionable insights that help ensure vaccines reach the communities that need them most and improve the health of the populations we serve. I am also pleased to share the collective results from the MAINSTREAM initiative, highlighting key learnings and contributions across countries: https://lnkd.in/d6sYNkUr

Since Kenya's last immunization program review in 2018, the country has introduced new vaccines and expanded coverage. Now, a comprehensive review is underway to build on that progress. Kenya's National Vaccination and Immunization Program, with support from the World Health Organization, UNICEF, PATH, Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. and other partners, is reviewing 7 key areas: ✅ Program management and finance ✅ Human resource management ✅ Vaccine supply, quality and logistics ✅ Service delivery ✅ Immunization coverage and monitoring ✅ Vaccine-preventable disease surveillance ✅ Vaccine safety monitoring and demand creation This review will assess achievements, identify gaps and inform strategic planning to ensure no child is left behind. This week, multidisciplinary teams from the Ministry of Health, Kenya, counties and partners are visiting 16 counties to collect data. Teams will then come together from 26 to 30 April to analyse findings and develop recommendations. #Immunization #VaccinesSaveLives #HealthForAll #Kenya #WHO #PublicHealth

For every generation, vaccines work. As the world commemorates the 2026 Immunization Week, Heartland Alliance LTD/GTE (HALG) joins the global call to ensure that no child is left behind. In Katsina State, our work has focused on identifying and reaching zero-dose children, strengthening microplanning systems, and supporting large-scale immunization efforts built on real data. Because vaccines only work when every child is found, counted, and reached. #WorldImmunizationWeek #VaccinesWork #PublicHealth #Nigeria #HALG

National Immunization Awareness Week is an opportunity to focus on practical, system-level actions that can improve vaccine uptake and strengthen Canada’s resilience to vaccine-preventable respiratory illness. In our latest Our Voice blog, we focus on closing the immunization gap through practical policy and delivery improvements: clearer education and more convenient access points in the community. Across Canada, some populations, including older adults and people living with chronic conditions are more likely to experience serious outcomes from vaccine-preventable respiratory illnesses. Yet access and uptake remain uneven, driven by differences in awareness, affordability, and how easily immunization fits into daily life. To help close these gaps, we encourage coordinated action to improve consistency in publicly funded access to recommended vaccines and to strengthen delivery capacity where Canadians already seek care. Where appropriate, enabling pharmacists to vaccinate to the full scope of practice can be an important step to expand access and support timely immunization. Read the blog: A healthier, more resilient Canada starts with immunization access and education. #NIAW2026 #TheTimeIsNow #Immunization #PublicHealth #VaccineAccess #pharmacy https://lnkd.in/eNBzSj8Z
