The Coach's Mobile Market is essentially a rolling grocery store on wheels and what we're looking to do is bring healthy foods to underserved parts of the community. Today we're out here giving the community resources as far as food access goes, whether you're on SNAP, WIC, Double Up Food Bucks, produce Prescriptions plan. Our goal for next year is to get the bus to more parts of the county and really start digging in deeper into this food as medicine movement. We're all small scale family farms located in Cochise County. Essentially most of us are under 2 acres. It's all handwork produce. The one thing that we do agree to is a cooperative is to not use any pesticides, synthetic fertilizers or chemicals in our production. So I think that makes us well positioned to be almost the step above organic. We like to joke prescription grade produce, but essentially what we want to do is take our high quality produce and next year and make sure we're getting it to the highest need possible. Whether that be the pharmacy school program, the food banks, maybe even the Boys and Girls Club in Bisbee would be a fun one. But we really want to make sure we're getting the food to the people who need it most. At the Farm to school program is awesome, so it's a collaborative effort between the local coop, the County Health Department, Doctor Clay's office, and the three of us came together and basically farmed the schools. A three legged stool #1 We want to see locally grown produce integrated into this school cafeterias. We've been successful with that so far. We've adopted 7 different districts. The second part is we want to bring the love of growing to the school. So we're going to implement community gardens at the schools. Currently we do have funds available if you are one of these districts and you want to. Either grow, expand or operate a new school garden. You can help you with that. And then the third and probably most important part is the nutritional egg. So not only getting out to the schools, you'll see the mobile market doing take through three this year, but we also want to do some professional education with the teachers and get them more involved with their nutrition protective. First off, they can expect fun, friendly people. They can expect fair, equitable prices. Whether you're a millionaire or you're on the street, everybody eats with their local coop and that's one of the things we take most pride in. So if you see the bus. Come by, check us out, let us know what your situation is, and we'll make sure you get that.
What an amazing project and vision for Cochise County. Proud to see the Local Co-Op growing with a mission to bring locally grown agriculture directly to schools and the community — supporting local farmers, investing in children, and building a stronger future for generations to come. 👍
