Trading Assistant

Our client, a well known Financial Services firm in New York, NY, is seeking a Trading Assistant to join their team. The Fund manages more than $25b in assets across multiple strategies. They are seeking a motivated candidate with strong middle office, trade support, and operational experience across credit and fixed income products.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end trade lifecycle activity including trade booking, allocations, amendments, and post-trade maintenance
• Monitor and process lifecycle events such as settlements, paydowns, resets, refinancings, restructurings, and corporate actions across portfolios
• Perform daily cash, position, and P&L reconciliations, resolve breaks, and ensure alignment across internal systems and external counterparties
• Track and manage complex transaction activity including credit events, financing-related activity, and ad hoc trade adjustments
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external counterparties to ensure timely settlement and resolution of trade-related issues
• Support liquidity awareness by monitoring upcoming cash flows, funding activity, and trade-related cash movements

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of experience in middle office, trade support, fund operations, or related financial services operations role
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or similar
• Strong understanding of trade lifecycle processes across credit, loans, fixed income, or structured products
• Experience with reconciliations, settlement processes, and operational controls required
• Advanced Excel skills required; exposure to data tools or automation platforms is preferred
