Job Description:
Field Application Engineers work with Business Groups, Partners and Customers for successful sales conversion. This starts from NPI where one has to assist in formulating the product specifications and solutions as per customer's needs and support the sales procedure accordingly to MP.
Role Summary/ Responsibilities:
· Host meeting to discuss specification, applications and technical issues with customers’ and Delta Asia’s engineering team.
· Understand and analyze customer’s design, OEM equipment design, recommend appropriate Delta’s products to customers in an early development phase.
· Provide customer assistance on applications, specifications and quality matters
· Technical liaison between assigned customer base, Delta US and Delta teams for all products.
· Support market analysis on new products, new markets and developments in the industry
Internal:
· Working with design team and manufacturing factory team in Asia for thermal management solution design and production implementation.
· Collect market and technology trend information and share with product team in Taiwan.
External:
· Interacting with customer product development engineers to understand design direction, system requirements, and delivery schedule of a thermal management solution.
· Provide technical support to sales rep and local distributors on fan and heat-sink thermal solutions.
Qualifications:
· BSEE or BSME, minimum 3-5 years’ experience with design or applications engineering on thermal management.
· Communication Skills: Ability to understand customer’s need and to find the answers from customers, and determine a solution and advocate that solution to the customer. Ability to relate to design engineers across various applications.
· Knowledge about rack level and data center cooling solutions
· Familiar with application of telecom and IT industries.
· Effective presentation skills.
· Able to travel out of state and country.
Requirements
· Extensive knowledge of thermal solutions and components such as in-rack and in-row Coolant Distribution Units (CDU) stretching from 10kW to 3MW cooling capacity and other liquid cooling products such as manifolds, cold plates as well as air cooling solutions e.g. vapor chambers, heat pipes, heatsink and fan, etc.
Ability to deploy, commission and test any of the above products at the end-customer lab or datahall.
· Strong communication and organizational skills: Ability to understand a customer’s need and to probe for answers, and then determine a solution and advocate that solution to the customer.
· Strong Microsoft Office and effective presentation skills
· Quick learning and flexible to adopt of company systems and processes
