Position Overview
Daybright Retirement is seeking a Technical Analyst / Tester to support the delivery, validation, and ongoing integrity of enterprise applications that power our retirement and benefit administration platforms (401(k), 403(b), 401(a), 457(b), and IRA). This role operates at the intersection of business analysis, software development, and operations — ensuring that new system enhancements, integrations, and workflow automation initiatives function as designed within highly regulated financial services environments.
Responsibilities
Requirements Validation & Solution Alignment
Review Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Specifications, and Technical Design Documents for completeness and testability
Translate documented requirements into detailed system test scenarios and acceptance criteria
Validate that implemented enhancements align with operational workflows across retirement plan administration functions
Participate in backlog refinement and sprint planning activities to identify technical dependencies and test considerations
System Integration & Data Validation Testing
Develop and execute test cases supporting integrations between Oracle-based recordkeeping platforms, payroll providers, enterprise workflow tools (e.g., OnBase WorkView), and CRM platforms
Validate inbound / outbound data files, API payloads, participant account transactions, payroll contribution uploads, and distribution processing logic
Perform database-level validation using SQL across Oracle and SQL Server environments
Enterprise Workflow & Automation Testing
Support automated workflow testing for distributions, loans, payroll integrations, onboarding, and compliance controls
Execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Operational Readiness Testing in partnership with Operations stakeholders
Validate Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) and automated document ingestion workflows where applicable
Defect Management & Root Cause Analysis
Identify, document, and prioritize system defects related to financial transactions and participant account activity
Perform root-cause analysis across middleware layers, databases, APIs, and workflow configurations
Collaborate with Development teams to support defect remediation and solution validation
Production Support & Continuous Improvement
Assist in post-release validation activities and production issue triage
Monitor application behavior for performance or data anomalies impacting participant outcomes
Provide recommendations for improved automation or control points within existing workflows
Maintain detailed system and testing documentation for enterprise integrations
Required Skills/Experience
3–5+ years of experience in Technical Analysis, Quality Assurance, or System Testing within Financial Services or retirement plan administration
Working knowledge of retirement plan recordkeeping systems and contribution / distribution lifecycle processing
Experience writing and executing system integration and data validation test cases
Intermediate SQL skills for querying relational databases (Oracle or SQL Server)
