Job Description
The Security Guard / Public Safety Ambassadors protect and guard University property (both clinical and nonclinical); maintain order among the public and the UCSF community; monitor and control entry to restricted areas; inspect areas to prevent fires, accidents, and other hazards; direct visitors and answer questions concerning building and/or exhibit layouts. The job will involve the ability to push and pull up to 25 pounds; stand and walk for extended periods; carry and lift 21-30 pounds and run short distances. Effective 10/17/23: We are offering a new hire sign-on bonus of $500 to all external hires that have not been employed by a UC in the last 12 months! The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.General PC knowledge and demonstrated proficiency using MS Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)Excellent customer service and effective problem-solving skills; ability to fluently speak, read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in EnglishDemonstrated ability to work calmly under stress in emergencies; sound judgment skillsDemonstrated record of excellent attendance and reliabilityNote: Physical/health screening, fingerprinting, and background checks are required.
Preferred Qualifications
One or more years of experience in the security fieldMilitary experience
