Company is searching for attentive and detail-oriented drivers to join our client’s team of Autonomous Vehicle Safety Drivers.


In this role, you will be at the forefront of autonomous vehicle testing, contributing to the advancement of cutting-edge technology while ensuring the highest safety standards.


This position is ideal for those with excellent driving skills, a passion for innovation, and an ability to act swiftly and safely in potentially adverse driving situations.


As a Safety Driver, you'll:

  • Operate autonomous vehicles safely and lawfully to collect critical data on system performance and environmental factors.
  • Interact professionally with riders, engineers, and company operations leaders to provide feedback and insights.
  • Monitor vehicle performance and conduct in-field testing to ensure operational safety.
  • Prepare vehicles daily for in-field operations, including safety checks and system readiness.
  • Submit detailed reports to support system advancements and operational improvements.
  • Be prepared for the actions of other drivers and pedestrians as well as for unexpected events.
  • Be alert and distraction free while in vehicles.

Qualifications

  • Experience as an autonomous vehicle operator, driving instructor, motorsports racer, or in a similar role requiring a strong commitment to safety and excellent driving skills
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license held for the past 3+ years
  • Clean driving record with no DUIs or drug- and/or alcohol-related offenses within the last 5 years
  • Ability to anticipate hazardous situations and respond quickly and safely, even in adverse conditions or due to the mistakes of others
  • Thorough knowledge of local traffic regulations
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions and comfort driving on different types of roads
  • High sense of ownership and responsibility


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of vehicle technology and control systems
  • Certification in safe driving or defensive driving
  • Additional coursework in safety or defensive driving

  • Onsite role open to candidates local to the Dallas, TX area

Interview process

Video and onsite. -Goal of HM's is to have 6-7 that make it past video interview stage and then manager to fly to Dallas to conduct the onsites all in one day. Again, groups of 6+ is ideal to make the most of the trip.
