Rapidly growing manufacturer in the automotive industry is seeking a dynamic, results-driven individual to oversee purchasing activity for the organization.As a Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for handling the end-to-end purchasing process by qualifying and sourcing suppliers and managing vendor relationships to ensure a seamless supply chain and optimize costs. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, make strategic decisions and implement best practices within the purchasing function.

Responsibilities:
Qualify, source and negotiate with potential suppliers, assess their capabilities and evaluate their suitability based on predefined criteria.
Manage supplier relationships, including regular communication, performance evaluations and issue resolution.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders including engineering team reviewing designs and CADs to understand their requirements and develop purchasing plans accordingly.
Assist in ERP implementation, ensuring data is accurate and accessible
Analyze inventory levels, demand forecasts and consumption patterns to optimize stock levels and reduce carrying costs.
Continuously evaluate and improve purchasing practices, including identifying cost-saving opportunities and process enhancements.
Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, performance metrics and cost savings to higher management.
Stay updated on regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to sourcing activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, business administration or a related field.
Knowledge of vendor management and inventory management systems. Experience with system implementations involving transition of inventory data from Excel to ERP. Knowledge of SAGE highly preferred.
5+ years of experience in purchasing within a manufacturing environment
In-depth knowledge of end-to-end purchasing principles, strategies and best practices.
Demonstrated experience in sourcing, qualifying, negotiating contracts and on-boarding suppliers
Strong negotiation skills, ability to hit deadlines and work in fast-paced, ever-changing environment
Experience working with engineering team, ability to read drawings and CADs
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
