Production Manager - Denim

Location: New York City (On-site 4 days / Remote 1 day)

As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to join our team.


Position Overview:

With a dedicated focus on denim, the Production Manager manages the placement, execution and follow-up of manufacturing orders and ensures the timely delivery of quality, profitable goods. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, collaborative, and skilled at navigating the complexities of denim manufacturing, cost negotiations, and factory communication. 


Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Calendar Management

·       Develop and maintain seasonal production calendars aligned with

design, development, and sales timelines.

·       Coordinate Fit, PP, TOP and bulk production milestones to ensure

timely delivery.

·       Monitor production progress and proactively resolve potential

delays or material issues.

2. Vendor & Factory Management

·       Allocate and track POs.

·       Establish strong partnerships and manage daily communication

with global manufacturing partners.

·       Negotiate cost, lead time, and capacity with suppliers while

ensuring compliance with CC Apparel quality and sustainability

standards.

3. Sourcing & Allocation

·       Oversee fabric and trim sourcing approvals in collaboration with

the design teams.

·       Approve TOP samples and pre-production materials to ensure

consistency in fit, fabric, color, and finishing in collaboration with

the design teams.

4. Costing & Inventory Optimization

·       Take ownership of cost engineering and product modifications to

maintain design and quality standards while achieving financial

goals.

·       Review, negotiate, and confirm unit costs with factories and

suppliers.

·       Identify cost-saving opportunities through efficient material

usage or process optimization.

·       Manage margin requirements with support and approval from

executive leadership.

5. Leadership & Collaboration

·       Provide regular updates to leadership on production status,

shipment forecasts, and key issues.

·       Lead communication with factories, mills, and suppliers to ensure

timely execution of samples, approvals, and production.

·       Partner closely with Executive, Design, and Sales teams to align

on seasonal priorities, and product needs.

·       Troubleshoot issues working with internal teams, overseas

partners, and logistics to ensure quality & on-time deliveries.

·       Effectively communicate to senior management and business

associates all potential risks that may impact production and

delivery.

·       Resolve production challenges quickly, proactively addressing

delays, quality concerns, or cost issues.

6. Compliance & Quality Assurance

·       Implement & uphold quality control measures, schedule audits,

and resolve production issues quickly.

·       Manage customer QA and TOP requirements with overseas

partners to ensure customer requirements are adhered.

7. Reporting & Documentation

·       Maintain production trackers, PO summaries, shipment records,

and vendor communications.

·       Manage costing processes and negotiate with factories to

achieve margin targets.

·       Track all purchase orders, WIP, and fabric commitments to

maintain accuracy and visibility across programs.

·       Oversee accurate production data within the BlueCherry ERP.

·       Generate weekly production reports and communicate status

updates across internal teams.


Qualifications:

·       Minimum 5+ years of hands-on denim production management

experience 

·       Proficiency in ERP systems, Excel and production tracking tools

BlueCherry preferred.

·       Advanced understanding of apparel production calendars,

costing, sourcing, and quality control.

·       Extensive experience working directly with overseas factories.

·       Highly organized, detail oriented with strong follow-up skills and

sense of urgency.

·       Excellent negotiation, collaboration and communication skills.

·       Excellent project management and problem-solving skills, with

the ability to manage multiple seasons and programs

simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

·       Strong interpersonal and leadership skills for managing supplier

relationships and internal collaboration.

·       Strong knowledge of denim construction, fabric properties,

finishing techniques, factory processes, product testing and

compliance.


Work Schedule:

·       On-site: 4 days per week (Manhattan office)

·       Remote: 1 day per week
