Role Overview
LightStyle is a nationwide lighting distributor operating through a manufacturer-direct, cost-plus procurement model with full pricing transparency and disciplined execution.
We are seeking a senior Operations & Team Performance Manager to work directly with ownership to lead execution across the organization, strengthen team performance, and ensure projects are delivered successfully from specification through completion.
This is a hands-on leadership role focused on managing people through the work—working alongside teams, resolving problems in real time, and building the structure, systems, and accountability required to operate at a high level.
This role is responsible for improving productivity, enforcing standards, developing team capability, and ensuring the business operates with consistency, clarity, and control.
Core Responsibility
Lead the team and the work—ensuring projects move forward efficiently, standards are upheld, and problems are resolved at the root through structure, accountability, and direct involvement.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Project Execution- Work directly with PMs, warehouse, quotations, and coordination teams to move projects forward
- Identify and resolve issues in real time by working within the workflow—not outside it
- Ensure projects are executed consistently from specification through delivery and closeout
- Step into problems, align teams, and drive resolution
- Lead the team through direct engagement, coaching, and clear expectations
- Develop team capability through training, structure, and accountability
- Establish ownership across roles and ensure follow-through
- Hold a consistent standard of performance across all departments
- Build, refine, and enforce SOPs, checklists, and operational standards
- Ensure consistent use of internal systems and tracking tools
- Implement workflows that eliminate repeat issues and inefficiencies
- Hold teams accountable to process—not just outcomes
- Identify gaps in execution, coordination, and output
- Implement practical, structured improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy
- Track performance and reinforce standards across departments
- Reduce rework, missed steps, and internal breakdowns
- Address operational and personnel issues early and directly
- Resolve conflicts and misalignment across teams
- Eliminate recurring problems by fixing underlying systems—not repeating conversations
- Maintain a professional, focused, solutions-driven environment
- Partner with OptimumHR on HR-related matters including documentation, compliance, and employee actions
- Support performance management, disciplinary actions, and terminations with proper structure and documentation
- Ensure consistency and professionalism in handling employee matters
- Utilize HR as a resource to protect the company—not as a substitute for leadership
- Work directly with ownership to execute priorities and improvements
- Translate direction into clear action across the team
- Provide visibility into performance, gaps, and ongoing issues
- Bring solutions and drive follow-through across the organization
What Success Looks Like
- Projects move smoothly across departments without repeated breakdowns
- Team members operate with clear ownership and accountability
- Systems and SOPs are followed consistently
- Productivity, accuracy, and responsiveness improve across the organization
- Issues are resolved quickly and do not repeat
- The team becomes more capable, structured, and self-sufficient over time
- 7–12+ years in operations, general management, or team leadership roles
- Experience in construction, distribution, lighting, or project-based environments strongly preferred
- Proven ability to lead teams within active operations, not just manage from above
- Experience building and enforcing SOPs, systems, and accountability
- Strong problem-solver who addresses issues directly and effectively
- Experience working with HR or PEO partners (e.g., OptimumHR) is preferred, but not the primary function of the role
- High level of ownership, follow-through, and professionalism
