Linux System Administrator

We are seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator (RHEL) to support one of the largest government agencies in Downey, CA. This is a long-term onsite contract (12–24+ months) focused on enterprise Linux infrastructure, cloud platforms, Kubernetes, automation, and security-driven operations.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Location: Onsite – Downey, CA/City of Industry

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS, SUSE, and Debian systems
• Manage Linux servers across on‑prem and cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and automation scripts
• Support Kubernetes and OpenShift clusters
• Perform patch planning, vulnerability assessments, and remediation
• Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity
• Coordinate production changes and maintenance windows
• Work closely with Cyber Security, DevOps, Networking, and Application teams
• Maintain detailed technical documentation and process guides

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years Linux system administration experience
• Strong expertise with RHEL (required)
• 4+ years of Ansible, Shell, or Python scripting
• Experience with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift
• Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• VMware (vCenter, ESXi) experience
• Exposure to security tools such as Nessus, Tenable, Tanium, McAfee, Cisco AMP
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
