Brief Description
The Red Gate Group is seeking a Legislative Affairs Analyst to provide comprehensive legislative analysis and support across all Department of the Air Force (DAF/A10) mission areas, including nuclear modernization, countering weapons of mass destruction (CWMD), international agreements, and the Foreign Clearance Program. This role ensures leadership is informed and prepared for Congressional engagement by monitoring legislative activity, analyzing policy trends, and maintaining institutional knowledge of official positions and responses.

The Red Gate Group is seeking a Legislative Affairs Analyst to provide comprehensive legislative analysis and support across all Department of the Air Force (DAF/A10) mission areas, including nuclear modernization, countering weapons of mass destruction (CWMD), international agreements, and the Foreign Clearance Program. This role ensures leadership is informed and prepared for Congressional engagement by monitoring legislative activity, analyzing policy trends, and maintaining institutional knowledge of official positions and responses.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze Congressional activities, including hearings, committee markups, legislative proposals, and Government Accountability Office (GAO) reports.
- Track authorization and appropriation actions impacting the DAF nuclear portfolio and related mission areas.
- Produce recurring and ad-hoc reports summarizing legislative developments, trends, and potential impacts to Air Force priorities.
- Develop summaries and synopses of Congressional hearings, capturing key discussions, stakeholder positions, and implications.
- Maintain awareness of evolving legislative priorities and assess their impact on nuclear enterprise policy, funding, and strategy.
- Compile and maintain a comprehensive repository of official Air Force statements, postures, and responses to Congressional inquiries.
- Incorporate and track relevant statements from other Services, including the U.S. Navy, to ensure alignment and awareness of joint perspectives.
- Ensure leadership has access to accurate, up-to-date reference materials for use in legislative engagements and decision-making.
- Support preparation of briefing materials and background information for senior leader interactions with Congress and staffers.
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Demonstrated experience in legislative affairs, Congressional analysis, or defense policy within the Department of Defense or federal government
- Strong understanding of the Congressional process, including authorization and appropriations cycles
- Experience analyzing legislative language, hearings, and policy trends
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise reports and briefings
- Familiarity with national security, nuclear enterprise, or defense-related mission areas
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage and maintain large sets of information with accuracy and organization
