Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Food Technology Intern or Part-Time R&D Assistant to support our product development team. This role will focus on assisting with formulation, testing, and evaluation of icing, filling, and bakery products, with an emphasis on ingredient functionality, color systems, and performance optimization.


This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and testing of icing, filling, and bakery formulations

• Support R&D trials, including batching, scaling, and sample preparation

• Evaluate product attributes such as color, texture, stability, and flavor

• Document formulations, trial results, and observations accurately

• Support ingredient evaluations, including natural vs. synthetic alternatives

• Help troubleshoot formulation and process challenges

• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the lab and pilot areas

• Assist with shelf-life and stability studies

• Collaborate with internal teams (production, quality, and procurement)

• Enter and update formulas in internal company systems


Qualifications

• Currently pursuing Food Science, Food Technology, or related field

• Basic understanding of food formulation and ingredient functionality

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to follow procedures, document results clearly and concise

• Interest in bakery, icings, fillings, and ingredient systems

• Strong communication and teamwork skills
