The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in indirect procurement within a manufacturing environment, including vendor consolidation, contract negotiation, spend visibility, and process standardization. This leader will partner with operations, maintenance, finance, and administrative teams to ensure critical supplies and services are available when needed, while reducing total cost, improving purchasing controls, and building a scalable non-inventory purchasing function that supports safe, efficient remanufacturing operations.

Job Responsibilities

Purchasing Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute a strategy for non-inventory purchasing across maintenance, repair, and operations supplies, office supplies, and other indirect spend categories.
  • Lead efforts to centralize and standardize purchasing practices across locations and departments to improve control, consistency, and cost performance.
  • Establish category plans, supplier standards, and purchasing policies that support the remanufacturing of automotive headlights and wheels.

Supplier & Vendor Management

  • Identify, qualify, negotiate with, and manage suppliers for MRO supplies, office supplies, packaging, safety items, janitorial supplies, and other non-inventory goods and services.
  • Drive supplier consolidation initiatives to reduce vendor count, leverage company spend, and improve service levels, pricing, and payment terms.
  • Monitor supplier performance related to cost, quality, delivery, responsiveness, and compliance with company requirements.

Cost Optimization & Spend Control

  • Analyze indirect spend across the business to identify savings opportunities, eliminate duplication, and improve purchasing visibility.
  • Negotiate contracts, blanket orders, and preferred supplier agreements that reduce total cost of ownership and improve supply continuity.
  • Partner with finance and business leaders to support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for non-inventory purchasing categories.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with maintenance, operations, production, quality, EH&S, and administrative teams to ensure timely availability of critical supplies and services.
  • Support plant and office stakeholders in defining requirements, standardizing specifications, and selecting best-fit vendors.
  • Promote disciplined purchasing practices that align with operational needs, inventory control objectives, and internal approval processes.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Improve procurement systems, workflows, and reporting tools to strengthen requisitioning, purchase order compliance, and spend analytics for indirect materials.
  • Develop KPIs and dashboards for supplier performance, savings realization, contract utilization, and purchasing cycle times.
  • Drive continuous improvement in non-inventory purchasing processes to support safe, efficient, and scalable business operations.

Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain leadership within a manufacturing, industrial, or multi-site operating environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing indirect spend categories such as MRO supplies, office supplies, safety supplies, facilities-related purchases, and other non-inventory goods and services.
  • Proven success leading supplier consolidation, contract negotiations, cost reduction initiatives, and purchasing process standardization.
  • Strong leadership experience, including building, mentoring, and developing purchasing teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and systems skills, including experience with ERP systems, purchasing controls, spend analysis, and supplier performance reporting.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, with the ability to balance strategic sourcing priorities and day-to-day operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, operations, or a related field.
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing, remanufacturing, aftermarket, or industrial operations environments.
  • Background leading procurement transformation, centralized purchasing, or shared-services purchasing models across multiple sites or departments.
  • Experience sourcing maintenance-related services, capital support items, or plant support categories in addition to routine indirect materials.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and cost-savings initiatives in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Professional certification such as CPSM, CPIM, CSCP, or similar procurement or supply chain credential.

About Us

About Us:

For over 35 years, TERREPOWER (formerly BBB Industries) has been a leader in sustainable manufacturing, driving the circular economy by extending the life of essential products in the automotive and industrial markets.

Founded in 1987 in Daphne, Alabama by the Bigler family, TERREPOWER began as a small regional remanufacturer of starters and alternators. Our commitment to quality and innovation quickly earned us a reputation as a trusted name in the automotive industry.

Recognizing new challenges and opportunities, in 2019 we set our sights on EV battery upcycling-addressing one of the industry’s most pressing issues. Our engineering team pioneered solutions to extend EV battery life, pushing the boundaries of sustainable innovation.

Recognizing that demand for solar panels would exceed availability and 100,000 tons of waste would potentially go into landfills by 2035, our team searched for an innovative way to upcycle solar panels. With an eye on the future, we developed ways to upcycle solar panels.

Rooted in family and community values, we’re proud to have second-generation employees contributing to our legacy. Backed by Clearlake Capital, we’ve expanded our footprint into Europe with facilities in Spain, Italy, Denmark, Germany and Poland. We now sustainably manufacture and supply an assortment of nondiscretionary repair parts across more than 90 countries.

As we move forward under the TERREPOWER name, we remain committed to the same values that have always defined us: entrepreneurship, teamwork, customer-centered, sustainability, safety.
