JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS:
The Director of Grants will help support the development of grants, and the expansions and sustainability of existing programs by leading the process of writing, securing, and managing grants from government, foundation, and private sources. This position works closely with the Senior Director of Business Development, VP of External Relations, Program Leaders, Finance, External Relations, and Human Resources departments in the business development and funding proposal submission process.
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:
The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field of study and a minimum of three years of proposal development and grant management experience.
Experience in federal proposal development and grant management is strongly preferred.
A superior command of spoken and written English is required, as well as excellent research, analysis, and editing skills.
The ability to persuasively present projects from a broad array of program areas is also required.
The candidate will have a successful of working collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to research, plan, and develop proposals.
Shows flexibility in supporting team needs and adjusting to evolving responsibilities.
High-level Microsoft Office skills are essential, including Word and Excel.
Experience in grant database management is strongly preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform research related to potential business development and funding opportunities, including market research, needs analysis, state and federal regulatory research, and other research necessary to evaluate opportunities.
Review RFPs and proposal guidelines and clearly communicate these requirements to program staff to produce accurately completed applications.
Collaborate with program staff and the finance department in proposal development, including goals, activities, timelines, templates, and budgets.
Write, edit, and submit grants in collaboration with External Relations and program leadership to request startup and operating funds from available sources.
Observe assigned deadlines for renewals, applications, and progress reports for funders.
Facilitate the annual and ongoing grant planning processes.
Maintain grant award information on the departmental database to ensure the tracking of important funder information, including reporting and other deadlines.
Regularly communicate and program leadership to successfully administer grants and provide support in meeting grant goals and objectives.
Leverage AI-powered tools to enhance grant prospecting, proposal, data analysis, and reporting processes.
Will supervise the Development Manager, provide guidance, performance management, and collaborate to advance organizational goals
