Summary
The Credit Analyst position provides high level analytical support in underwriting/analyzing commercial credit facilities and assisting Portfolio Managers and Relationship Managers (RM) in managing customer relationships. A Credit Analyst will be expected to provide credit analysis support for assigned lending relationships. The position also provides mentoring and guidance to Client Specialists and other Credit Analysts as it relates to lending guidelines, and underwriting standards.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Interprets financial statements and provides financial analysis support utilized in underwriting complex C&I or CRE loans in a broad range of industries.
Ensures production is prioritized appropriately and completed in a timely manner. Tasks include: financial statement spreading; completing financial analysis documents; updating and creating new requests, modifications, renewals and annual reviews in the commercial loan origination system; tracking and completing covenant monitoring, completing industry research and developing a strong understanding of the Bank’s commercial loan policy.
Participates in transaction structuring and relationship strategy meetings with management and credit partners to justify and explain information in the analysis when warranted.
Reflects accurately all loan terms, collateral, covenants, loan grade inputs, policy exceptions, and calculating credit exposure for a given relationship in the commercial loan origination system.
Analyzes and prepares complex credit approval documentation in the commercial loan origination systems.
Partners with Portfolio Managers (PM’s) to monitor and manage assigned commercial loan portfolios such as tracking covenants, recording financial statements, and monitoring company performance against expectations.
Participates in internal credit conversations with PM’s, lender’s, Credit Officers, senior management and in external meetings with clients and prospects.
Participates in or leads special projects and assignments and performs other duties assigned.
Demonstrates consistent high level of ownership of personal performance metrics and team initiatives, flexibility in responding to Lender/PM/senior management and client deadlines, extreme level of detail and follow-through, and independence within the framework of the role in assisting in achieving business goals.
Identifies and reports material changes or trends in the financial statements of borrowers or guarantors observed in the preparation of credit approval presentations
Other Requirements
Banking is a highly regulated industry and you will be expected to acquire and maintain a proficiency in the Bank's policies and procedures, and adhere to all laws, rules and regulations that are applicable to your conduct and the work you will be performing. You will also be expected to complete all assigned compliance training in a timely manner.
Fundamental understanding of general bank operations and the commercial lending process
Strong Analytical Abilities, Credit Underwriting Skills
Ability to work with others in a team environment and under occasional time constraints is a necessity.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and legal documents; performs simple to complex calculations; effectively researches, analyzes and evaluates information to make decisions, solve problems and achieve goals
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products including, Word, Outlook and highly proficient skills with Excel

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.), preferably in Accounting, Finance or Business or equivalent combination of education and experience are required.
Minimum of 1 year of related experience in Financial Services, Banking, Credit Analysis, Loan Review or similar background required.
Familiarity with corporate credit products and the processes used to analyze financial data preferred.
