CASE AIDE

Full Time/Part Time Regular Full Time Total Hours Per Week 35 From Salary $40,000 To Salary $40,000

Job Summary: The Case Aide provides paraprofessional support to Case Planners and program staff to ensure timely, compliant, and effective service delivery to children and families involved in the foster care system. The Case Aide assists with case-related activities, visitation support, documentation, and service coordination in accordance with applicable requirements of the New York City Administration for Children's Services (ACS), New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), and federal child welfare guidelines, including Title IV-E.

This role supports child safety, well-being, and permanency by assisting in maintaining required contacts, supporting visitation and service engagement, and ensuring timely documentation and follow-up activities.

This position requires flexibility in scheduling, including availability to work early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends, based on the needs of children and families, visitation schedules, court requirements, and program operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to Case Planning staff in the implementation of service plans and case-related activities.
  • Maintain regular contact with children, families, and foster parents to support engagement and service compliance.
  • Assist clients in understanding service plans, expectations, and permanency goals.
  • Conduct collateral contacts with service providers, schools, and other stakeholders as directed.
  • Supervise and/or support parent-child visits, ensuring safety, appropriate interactions, and adherence to visitation plans.
  • Support and coach parents and children before, during, and after visits, and communicate any concerns or observations to Case Planning staff.
  • Document visitation observations and all assigned contacts, activities, and outcomes in a clear, objective, and timely manner in CONNECTIONS and other agency systems in accordance with documentation standards.
  • Escort and/or transport children and families to visits, court appearances, medical appointments, and service providers in accordance with agency protocols.
  • Must be able to safely transport Case Planners, Supervisors, and/or clients to case-related locations as directed.
  • Assist in scheduling, confirming, and coordinating appointments, family meetings, and service-related activities, including providing reminders to support engagement.
  • Report on children’s attendance, participation, and any barriers to engagement to Case Planning staff.
  • Support preparation for Family Court hearings, Family Team Conferences (FTCs), and other case-related meetings, including logistical coordination and document collection.
  • Observe and report any safety concerns, incidents, or changes in child or family functioning immediately in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and work under the supervision of assigned Case Planning staff.
  • Participate in required training, supervision, and program meetings.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to agency, ACS, OCFS, and federal requirements.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
  • Bi-lingual, Spanish, preferred.
  • Valid New York State driver’s license (non-restricted) required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to travel in the community as needed and to use a computer.
