Job Title Block Equity Options Trader Overview We are seeking an experienced Equity Options Trader to join a leading global market making firm's Institutional Block Options business. This group sits at the center of one of the most stable, high growth areas of the firm and handles significant institutional order flow across equity derivatives. The team is known for its deep market relationships, strong risk management culture, and long tenured senior leadership. About the Team * Institutional block options desk within a top tier global market maker * Handles large scale client driven equity options flow * Strong, consistent growth driven by institutional demand * Team includes highly experienced senior traders with both buy side and sell side backgrounds * Supportive mentorship environment combined with strong technical and quantitative resources * Collaborative trading floor with exposure to junior quant traders and senior decision makers Role Responsibilities * Trade and risk manage equity options blocks across single stocks and indices * Price, execute, and hedge complex equity option structures * Manage volatility and Greeks across client driven flow * Partner with sales and coverage teams to provide competitive pricing and thoughtful market insights * Contribute to risk discussions and strategy development within the desk * Apply fundamental and market context where relevant to enhance trade decision making Required Background and Skills Trading Experience * 4+ years of proven experience trading equity options in an institutional environment * Background from a bank equity derivatives desk, volatility trading desk, or equivalent * Strong understanding of equity options theory, volatility dynamics, and risk management * Demonstrated ability to price and manage option risk in real time * Not an analyst profile. This role requires hands on trading experience Technical and Analytical Skills * Solid Python skills for analysis, tooling, or workflow enhancement * Comfortable working with models and analytics but not required to be a pure quant * Ability to interpret risk metrics and contribute to desk level decision making * Fundamental market awareness is a plus, particularly when applied to options risk
