Base pay range

$110,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr
The Associate Director, Business Development supports MedTrials growth by developing new business opportunities, cultivating, and maintaining client relationships, and achieving corporate sales objectives.

  • Responsibilities
  • Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Business Development:
  • Generate and develop qualified business leads within assigned territory.
  • Facilitate service discussions and need analyses.
  • Set up conference calls and meetings.
  • Maintain accounts and effectively manage customer relationships.
  • Maintain high level of sales activity (calls, emails, letters, meetings, etc.)
  • Document customer contacts and sales activities in designated electronic database/document management system.
  • Assist with coordination of the RFI/RFP response and proposal development/submission process with oversight from BD manager.
  • Assist with coordination of bid defense meetings (presentation development, logistics, execution, and follow-up).
  • Participate and travel as needed for industry trade events and sales meetings.
  • Represent MedTrials with high level of professionalism and enthusiasm.
  • Obtain and maintain service line knowledge.
  • Perform market research to maintain individual knowledge of industry (including news, terminology, trends, and issues).
  • Create and submit timely and accurate sales forecasts/reports.


Communications:

  • Communicate effectively and objectively at various levels, including management, team members, and other personnel.
  • Partner effectively with BD team to ensure effective sales coverage and responsiveness to achieve overall customer satisfaction.
  • Be capable of presentations to small and large groups (including peers, management, sponsor personnel and other personnel as necessary).
  • Organize, participate, and facilitate meetings within the company, with clients, industry colleagues, and others, as necessary to support business development efforts.
  • Maintain organized electronic files that can be accessed by appropriate personnel.

  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required if less than 3 years of relevant sales experience; Bachelor’s or higher degree in business administration or marketing/communications preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical research industry experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ of professional sales experience; prior CRO, clinical FSP, clinical staffing sales experience.
  • Knowledge of the drug and device development/clinical research industry preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), presentation and time management skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including use of standard software (word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, database, and email).
  • Able to travel (may include weekends).
