Updates

  • On May 15 in Draper, Utah, a gong rang out dozens of times — each time marking progress toward BambooHR's goal to package 130,000 meals with Rise Against Hunger. 📦 In just three hours, 900 BambooHR employees reached that goal, showing what is possible with dedication and altruism. The meals packaged that afternoon will provide over 600 people with consistent access to nutritious food for a year. The event was particularly special because BambooHR and Rise Against Hunger hit an impactful milestone together. BambooHR reached (and exceeded!) 500,000 meals collectively packaged since our partnership began in 2017! Want to engage your business in the movement to end hunger, like BambooHR? • In Kisii, Kenya, Deborah is on the path to a bright future! While attending Sosera Primary School, Deborah received daily meals through the Feed for Knowledge school feeding program, implemented by Rise Against Hunger and our partner Rural Family Hope. With the nourishment she needed to thrive academically, she became one of the school's top students! Deborah has since graduated from primary school, but her story doesn't end there. She now attends St. Charles Ichuni Girls Secondary School with a one-year full scholarship and is pursuing her dreams! Deborah's story is a powerful reminder of how access to nutrition and education can help students reach their full potential. This is the impact The Journey of a Meal makes in communities all over the world — a seed of hope that blooms into transformation! Want to learn what Deborah's dreams are for her future? • Did you know ANY group can host a Rise Against Hunger meal packaging event? Corporations, churches, civic groups, schools and even family and friends can make a hands-on impact! The Pender family did exactly that in Foster City, California! After packaging meals with their church earlier this year, Camille, their daughter, was inspired to bring the experience to her own community. On May 5, Camille, alongside her siblings Caleb and Finley, invited 65 friends, family and classmates to package 10,000 meals at the local middle school. In just two hours, these volunteers made a lasting impact by providing critical nutrition and supporting education and economic empowerment for families around the world. Meal packaging events fuel our mission — see how here ➡️ https://hubs.li/Q04gjDrD0

  • Meals are on the move! In April, Rise Against Hunger sent 13 containers of meals and aid to our in-country partners around the world to support children and families experiencing food insecurity: 📦 11 containers to Convoy of Hope in the Philippines 📦 1 container to Salesian Missions in El Salvador 📦 1 container of meals and medicine to Abba's House in the Dominican Republic You made The Journey of a Meal possible by packaging meals and donating this spring. It Starts With a Meal® — and it starts with you! Each container of volunteer-packaged meals supports nutrition, education and economic empowerment programs. Thank you for being a Hunger Champion! If you're interested in hosting a meal packaging event this year, let's make it happen! Check it out and learn more about joining the movement to end hunger: https://hubs.li/Q04ftPTH0

  • Every life begins with a moment of care — a mother holding her child, a caregiver making sure there’s enough to eat, a small decision that shapes what comes next. In honor of Mother's Day, we're sharing the story of an inspiring mother. In India, Sunita works in her community to improve the health of women and their babies. Check out the video to hear her story and see the impact of the first 1,000 days! The first 1,000 days of life — from pregnancy to age two — are crucial for a child's long-term development. With the right nutrition in those early days, children can grow, learn and thrive. Your support ensures mothers, like Sunita, and their babies receive the nourishment and resources they need during this critical time. This Mother’s Day, we want to say thank you for being a part of this work. ❤️ Give today in celebration of motherhood: https://hubs.li/Q04fgR000

We’re so grateful to have you walking this journey with us — and we can’t wait to witness the harvest of transformation ahead! • When you’re gathered around the funnel station at a Rise Against Hunger meal packaging event, you’re doing more than packaging meals. You’re becoming part of someone’s story as they work toward achieving food security and resilience. ❤️ The meals provide critical nutrition, support education and foster economic empowerment for underserved people worldwide. And you make this impact possible by volunteering — like 20 corporate professionals did last week by packaging 10,000 meals in North Carolina’s Research Triangle Park! These RTP volunteers made a hands-on impact in the work to end world hunger — and so can you! Take the first step to hosting your own meal packaging event here ➡️ https://hubs.li/Q04f5sgV0

  • Over the last five weeks of our Journey of a Meal campaign, supporters like you have helped plant seeds of hope around the world. But the journey isn’t finished yet. For Imelda in the Philippines, the journey is a turning point. Each week in Cagayan de Oro, Imelda shares a hot meal with her children through a community feeding program. What starts as a meal becomes something bigger: relief from financial pressure, strength for her family and the capacity to dream of what’s next. Through Rise Against Hunger’s partnership with International Care Ministries, Imelda is also gaining nutrition, livelihood and financial training — working toward her dream of starting a small business. Stories like Imelda’s remind us of the power of The Journey of a Meal. With just one week of the campaign left, make your gift today to support families like hers: https://hubs.li/Q048VFfR0 Then, read more about Imelda’s journey: https://hubs.li/Q048VvBl0
