White House Gifts, one of Washington, D.C.’s most iconic and established retail destinations is seeking an Assistant Director of Retail Operations to help lead our growing organization.

Located just steps from the White House, we are proud to be recognized as one of the premier gift shops in Washington, D.C., offering a unique customer experience centered around American history, patriotism, tourism, and hospitality.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organized, energetic, and solutions-oriented leader to work directly alongside our Director of Retail Operations in overseeing daily store operations, supporting warehouse coordination, developing teams, and driving operational excellence.
What You’ll Do:
Support daily retail and operational leadership in a high-volume tourism environment
Help lead, coach, and develop retail staff and supervisors
Assist with labor management, scheduling, and operational execution
Coordinate communication and workflow between the retail store and warehouse teams
Help drive sales performance and customer satisfaction
Support merchandising execution, inventory flow, and operational organization
Assist in maintaining a positive, professional, and accountable workplace culture
Help create memorable customer experiences for visitors from around the world

Strong retail leadership and organizational experience
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to lead calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environment
Experience managing people, operations, and customer service initiatives
High attention to detail and operational follow-through

White House Gifts is seeking a long-term operational leader who is excited about growing with the company and making a meaningful impact on both the customer and employee experience.
This is an on-site leadership position based in Washington, D.C. Weekend and night, weekend and holiday availability is required based on operational needs.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive annual salary range of $60,000 – $70,000 based on experience, leadership background, and overall qualifications
