Producing Director (Direct Hire Placements + High-Level Consultants)
A growing and dynamic organization in the Silver Spring area is seeking an experienced Operational Accounting Manager to join its finance leadership team. This hybrid opportunity is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys improving processes, supporting operational leadership, and driving accounting excellence across the organization.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in operational accounting, financial reporting, month-end close management, and process improvement initiatives while partnering cross-functionally with business leaders.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day operational accounting activities including general ledger, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close
Oversee and review financial reporting packages to ensure accuracy and timeliness
Lead accounting process improvements and help streamline workflows across the finance function
Partner with operational and executive leadership to support business initiatives and financial decision-making
Supervise and mentor accounting staff while fostering a collaborative team environment
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Coordinate with external auditors and support year-end audit activities
Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to leadership
Support implementation or optimization of ERP systems and accounting technology tools
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong operational accounting exposure
Prior leadership or management experience preferred
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
Experience managing month-end close processes in a mid-sized or growing organization
Advanced Excel skills and ERP system experience required
CPA or CPA-track preferred but not required
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Ability to work independently in a hybrid work environment
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary up to $150,000 depending on experience
