Job Overview
We’re looking for an Account Director / Senior Account Lead who’s ready to jump in, take ownership of key client relationships, and help lead the work we do at Vario.
In this role, you’ll sit at the center of client relationships, strategy, and execution. You’ll partner closely with our clients to understand their businesses, help shape marketing and brand strategy, and guide the internal team to deliver thoughtful, effective work.
At Vario, account leadership isn’t about managing projects from the sidelines. Our account leaders are deeply involved in the thinking and the doing—helping clarify priorities, shape ideas, guide creative development, and keep projects moving forward.
Because we’re a small team, this role requires someone who’s comfortable balancing big-picture thinking with hands-on leadership. You’ll help guide conversations, bring clarity to complex challenges, and ensure the work we deliver reflects both our clients’ goals and Vario’s standard for quality.

What you’ll do
At Vario, leading accounts means having your hands in everything—from high-level strategy to everyday problem-solving. You’ll help guide client relationships, shape marketing direction, and ensure the work we deliver is thoughtful, effective, and executed with care.
Lead & Inspire
You’ll serve as a trusted partner for our clients, guiding conversations around strategy, priorities, and opportunities. You’ll help set the direction while also staying closely involved in the work to make sure everything moves forward smoothly.
Strategic and Tactical
You’ll work closely with clients and our internal team to develop marketing and communications strategies that align with real business goals. As part of a small agency, you won’t just oversee the work—you’ll help shape it..
Deep Client Relationships
You’ll build strong, lasting relationships by understanding our clients’ businesses inside and out. By staying closely connected to their goals and challenges, you’ll help anticipate needs and bring thoughtful ideas to the table.
Team Player
You’ll collaborate closely with our internal team—from strategy to creative—to ensure everyone is aligned and projects run smoothly. You’re comfortable guiding the team while also jumping in to help refine ideas or solve challenges.
Process Champion
We believe great work comes from clear, thoughtful processes. You’ll help maintain and improve the systems that keep projects organized, efficient, and moving forward.
Innovation & Solutions

Ownership & Accountability
You’ll take ownership of the accounts and projects you lead, making sure work is delivered on time, on budget, and at the level of quality we expect from ourselves.
Grow the Business
As you deepen relationships with clients, you’ll naturally identify opportunities to expand our work together—introducing new ideas, initiatives, or services when they add meaningful value.
Your day-to-day:
Client Champion: You’ll build and nurture strong client relationships—leading conversations, guiding presentations, and ensuring our clients feel supported and confident in the work we’re doing together.
Project Mastermind: From kickoff to delivery, you’ll help manage timelines, scopes, and deliverables so projects stay organized and on track.
Creative Collaborator: You’ll work closely with our creative team to ensure the work is sharp, thoughtful, and aligned with the strategy behind it.
Financial Steward: You’ll help manage account budgets and scopes, keeping projects financially healthy while delivering strong work.
Problem-Solver on the Fly: Projects evolve—and that’s part of the fun. You’ll help navigate challenges, pivot when needed, and keep things moving forward.
Process Guru: You’re always thinking about how we can work smarter. You’ll help refine the processes that allow our team to do great work without unnecessary friction.
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for someone who enjoys being hands-on while also helping lead the bigger picture. You should have a strategic mindset, strong client instincts, and a genuine interest in working closely with both clients and teammates.
Experience: You’ve spent 8–10+ years working in a marketing, branding, or creative agency and have experience managing complex client relationships and multi-faceted projects.
Leadership & Collaboration: You lead by example and know how to bring people together to do great work. You’re comfortable guiding conversations, aligning teams, and helping move ideas forward.
Creative & Strategic: You’re not just about checking boxes or managing timelines—you’ve got a creative streak and a strategic mind. You’re thinking about the ideas behind the work and how it connects to client goals.
Communication Pro: You’re a clear and confident communicator who can build trust with clients, present ideas effectively, and help guide feedback and decisions.
Organized & Detail-Oriented: You’ve got an eye for detail and know how to keep multiple projects organized and moving without losing sight of the big picture.
Positive & Proactive: You bring curiosity, energy, and a solutions-oriented attitude to everything you do.
