Titus Regional Medical Center is proud to announce the opening of Advanced Spine Care at Titus, bringing specialized spine care with a neurosurgical approach to OUR community. We're also excited to welcome Dr. Marcus Smith, a board-certified neurosurgeon with over 15 years of experience, as the clinic’s lead physician. Located on the second floor of TRMC, Advanced Spine Care at Titus offers expert diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of spine and neurological conditions—including herniated discs, spinal stenosis, chronic back and neck pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and more. Dr. Smith is known for his compassionate care and advanced surgical techniques, including minimally invasive spine surgery, spinal decompression and stabilization, Kyphoplasty, and the latest non-surgical therapies. Dr. Alfarawati is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Diseases with over 30 years of experience in patient care. After graduating from medical school in 1986, Dr. Alfarawati completed an Internal Medicine residency at Yale University in 1993. Pursuing further specialization, Dr. Alfarawati joined the fellowship program at the University Hospital Medical Center in Jackson, MS, in 1994, successfully completing the program in 1996. With extensive experience in intensive care management, Dr. Alfarawati is highly proficient in pulmonary and critical care procedures, including bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, pleural biopsy, chest tube placement, and more. A key area of expertise includes the evaluation and management of sleep disorders and allergies, as well as comprehensive care for conditions such as COPD, asthma, sinus diseases, respiratory infections, lung nodules, lung cancer, interstitial lung disease, sarcoidosis, pulmonary embolism, pulmonary hypertension, and smoking cessation. Dr. Alfarawati has been a resident of Texas since 2011 and is known for a compassionate bedside manner. Outside of medicine, Dr. Alfarawati enjoys outdoor activities and traveling. Danon brings over 15 years of service to Titus Regional Medical Center, having served in diverse operational and clinical support roles, including the Foundation, Accounting, Wound Care, Pain Management, Imaging Plus, HVIT, and Orthopedics. Her proven success in hospital operations, strategic planning, and provider engagement makes her ideally suited for this expanded role. Danon’s leadership has consistently elevated departmental performance, team development, and patient experience across the board. We are thrilled to announce that CheyAnne Harris has accepted the newly formalized position of Chief Quality Executive (CQE) for Titus Regional Medical Group (TRMG) - a role she has thoughtfully shaped over the past year. As CQE, CheyAnne will support clinical and operational excellence across our employed physician group, with a focus on quality, safety, and continuous process improvement. In this role, she will serve as a dyad partner to the role of TRMC Operations Director. This dyad will lead standardization efforts across our clinics and foster stronger integration between hospital and clinic operations. CheyAnne has been a dedicated member of the TRMC team for the past 10 years, progressing through clinical and leadership roles to champion evidence-based care and organizational improvement. With a Master of Science in Nursing Education and deep roots in Labor & Delivery, CheyAnne has led numerous system-wide quality initiatives and high-stakes designation processes with distinction—four of which were completed with zero deficiencies. She is recognized across Texas and nationally for her expertise in maternal health and patient safety, including roles with ACOG, Texas AIM, The Joint Commission, and the Texas Collaborative for Healthy Mothers and Babies. Her leadership is grounded in initiative, compassion, and a relentless pursuit of zero harm. We are proud to announce that William Hooks, MD, MBA will assume operational leadership of Information Technology, the Medical Staff Office, the rural residency program and Quality while continuing in his role of Chief Medical Officer (CMO)/Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO). In addition to these administrative functions, Dr. Hooks will continue to lead and provide anesthesia services. Dr. Hooks is a proven leader in healthcare with a career that spans over 20 years and has been a physician leader at TRMC for the past 9 years. He is an avid patient advocate and expert in quality and patient safety. His passion for leadership and healthcare in rural America led to his receiving a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Tyler in 2022. Dr. Hooks led the medical staff at TRMC as the Chief of Staff during the COVID-19 pandemic and worked closely with physicians and the leadership team to help protect our patients, staff, and community. He was also instrumental in reshaping the organized medical staff into the current department structure that exists today, helping to ensure diversity of thought, voice, and opportunity among physician leaders in the organization. Outside of work, Dr. Hooks enjoys spending time with his wife, Heather, and daughter, Olivia. He is a proud Marvel and Disney nerd, a published author, and a veteran, having served 13 years in the United States Navy. He most enjoys making music with his family.
