We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on the global acceleration of blockchain education and the adoption of blockchain.

About us

The Blockchain Acceleration Foundation (BAF) is a nonprofit organization that addresses the lack of accredited university classes, career opportunities, and funding for student organizations in blockchain-related areas. We achieve this goal by organizing workshops, hackathons, and career fairs, as well as through sourcing funding and sponsors for blockchain organizations and research. We monitor the evolving nature of blockchain’s development, and we remain committed to developing and adapting our program according to the industry’s emerging needs. BAF actively works with student and faculty blockchain organizations at UCLA, UCSD, UCI, UCSB, USC, Caltech, UC Davis, CSUN, and UNAM. • Binance University Tour Argentina 🎓 Last week we participated in the Binance University Tour at Universidad de San Andrés. We had the opportunity to talk about something really matters: how to start a career in blockchain. We also covered what it actually looks like to work at companies like BNB Chain, Binance and Roxom: the day to day, how teams operate, what profiles are needed, and why this ecosystem remains one of the most dynamic spaces to grow a career today. Thank you to Binance and Mindot for the invitation and for continuing to bring this technology closer to the next generation of builders. Let's keep building 🚀

  • Last week we joined CriptoUNAM Oficial at CompuFest to bring Stellar to the Faculty of Sciences. The format wasn't a workshop or a pitch competition. Founders from Código Alebrije's Scale track took the stage to share their journey firsthand: what it looked like to go from building at a hackathon to raising funds, finding real customers, and shipping a product people actually use. For students still in the classroom, hearing that story from someone who was sitting where they are not long ago changes something. It makes the path feel real and reachable. Not just a possibility, but something you can start moving toward today. That's exactly why spaces like CompuFest matter, and that's why we keep boosting them.

  • 190 people walked into Código Alebrije without a team, without a project, and without knowing what they'd build. Three days later, 47 projects were live on Stellar. The Genesis Track was designed for exactly that kind of builder: students, early-stage developers, and first-time hackers who had the technical foundations but hadn't yet shipped anything on Stellar. No prior project required. Just the drive to build. From Day 1, teams formed around four categories: payments, DeFi and real-world assets, local financial tools, and open integration. What made the difference wasn't just time or pressure. It was access: direct mentorship from Stellar Development Foundation team members in the room, workshops on Soroban smart contracts, integration patterns, ecosystem tooling, and hands-on support from etherfuse, Decaf, Drips, and Trustless Work. The top three projects walked away with a share of $8,000 USDC and an invitation to the Alebrije Accelerator to keep building toward SCF funding. For the rest, they walked away with something harder to quantify: a working product, a team, and the experience of having shipped under real pressure with real support. That's what the entry point into the Stellar ecosystem looks like and we are here to help each founder in their journey.

  • A hackathon, an acceleration program, and the chance to go to Stellar House CDMX. 🇲🇽 The Scale Track at Código Alebrije was exactly that. Teams were selected through a rigorous process where they had to prove they were ready to take their project to the next level. 37 scholarships were given to 13 teams across LATAM to travel to the hackathon, keep building on Stellar, and receive constant mentorship from the Stellar Development Foundation team throughout the whole experience. The journey didn't stop there. Those projects continued in an acceleration program with Stellar to polish their products and get prepared to receive funding from SDF. Next week we're taking them all back to Mexico as scholars for Stellar House CDMX, to connect with the Stellar ecosystem, pitch their projects, and keep building their startups on Stellar. It's amazing to see how an idea becomes a real project at a hackathon. But even more incredible to watch that project keep going and transform into a startup. At BAF we help founders make that happen, and this program is living proof of it 🚀

  • Three days,190 builders and 47 new projects built on Stellar 🇲🇽 We wrapped up Código Alebrije in Mexico City: a hackathon, a builder residency, and one of the largest Stellar events in Latin America to date. We brought 150 builders into the Genesis Track to build new financial applications on Stellar from scratch across payments, DeFi, local financial tools, and open integration, competing for $8,000 USDC in prizes. We gave out 50 travel scholarships to make sure that distance wasn't a reason to stay home. In parallel, we selected 13 teams and 38 builders for the Scale Track: projects with active MVPs on Stellar, chosen through two weeks of pre-screening, focused on architecture refinement and funding readiness. By the end of Day 3, builders who had started from zero were standing in front of judges defending real products. Eleven members of the Stellar Development Foundation team and ecosystem partners etherfuse, Decaf and Drips were in the room to see it. We´re proud of every builder who showed up and shipped. This was just the beginning.

  • From building to connecting 🌅 After the VendimiaTech 🍇 hackathon, we hosted a Stellar Sunset for students and builders. Music, food, merch and a space to relax after two intense days of building. Builders who had just spent 48 hours coding, testing, and shipping finally had the chance to slow down, meet each other, and share what they had been working on. More than just a social event, it was about bringing the community together and turning a weekend of building into the start of new connections.
