Last week, I had the pleasure of speaking with The Greenbrier Companies’ Emerging Leaders group, which plays an important role in developing our next generation of leaders. During our discussion, I reflected on lessons from my 40 years in the rail industry and shared a few key takeaways, chief among them, the importance of saying “yes” to new opportunities. I’ve found that the best way to learn and build new skills is through real-world experience, even when it pushes you outside of your comfort zone. And that mindset never really ends. Thank you to the Emerging Leaders for the opportunity. Hearing the perspectives of these future leaders gives me confidence in the positive impact they will have on our business and the industry as a whole.
