In the days leading up to Memorial Day, GATX teams across several of our U.S. locations are honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice through a powerful and solemn tribute: the Missing Man Table. Also known as the Fallen Comrade Table, each carefully arranged setting serves as a poignant reminder of service members who are missing or did not return home. From the white tablecloth symbolizing purity of intention to the single red rose representing the lives and loved ones left behind, every element tells a story of courage, sacrifice, and remembrance. As we approach Memorial Day, we pause to remember, to honor, and to express our deepest gratitude to the individuals who made the freedoms we enjoy possible.

Proud to have our team out at the JPMorganChase Corporate Challenge last week in Chicago. From the starting line to the finish, this experience is a reminder of what makes GATX's culture strong: teamwork, camaraderie, and a shared commitment to showing up for one another. Whether running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, GATX employees brought energy, encouragement, and a true team spirit every step of the way. Thank you to everyone who participated and supported the team!

April is National Volunteer Month and World Wish Month. In recognition of these events, we want to highlight Kathleen Fergus-Hepburn, SPHR, the recipient GATX’s 2026 Grace Sink Volunteer of the Year Award. Named in honor of our late colleague who exemplified the GATX spirit of service, this award celebrates individuals whose compassion and leadership create lasting impact beyond our walls. Kathleen embodies that spirit in every way. While volunteering alongside colleagues to create heartfelt cards for children waiting for their Make-A-Wish® Illinois experiences, she saw the opportunity to do more and acted immediately. Kathleen identified a wish she knew she could help bring to life and rallied her personal network, GATX’s Brave employee resource group, and community partners to make something extraordinary happen. The result was a truly unforgettable moment for Jamaria, whose wish was to be surrounded by Marines—his personal heroes. The joy and meaning of that experience extended far beyond a single day, touching an entire family and community. Read more about Jamaria's wish: https://lnkd.in/g5RSE_QN Kathleen’s actions remind us of the power of going beyond what’s expected, and of the profound role each of us can play in helping others feel seen, valued, and supported. Thank you, Kathleen!

Happy International Women's Day! To commemorate and celebrate the day at our Chicago corporate headquarters, we heard from a panel of GATX leaders on the 2026 International Women's Day Theme "Give To Gain," including how they model the "Give to Gain" mindset, how they want to give more intentionally this year, and how they balance giving to others while protecting their own bandwidth. Thank you to the panelists and moderator for a practical and thought-provoking discussion and to GATX's Women in Leadership employee resource group for hosting!

GATX was proud to attend the annual Railroad Day on the Hill in Washington, D.C. yesterday! It was a great opportunity for our team to connect with industry leaders and Members of Congress and their staffs to highlight the role freight rail transportation plays in moving the economy forward—safely, sustainability, and efficiently. Events like Railroad Day on the Hill help ensure these perspectives are heard and understood as decisions are made that shape the future of freight rail transportation. Thanks to everyone who participated!

Thank you to the GATX team members who once again volunteered their time and energy at Nourishing Hope and to Nourishing Hope for welcoming us back! As one of Chicago’s largest and longest‑standing hunger relief organizations, Nourishing Hope plays a critical role in supporting our community. This year, GATX employees spent a morning packing 220 boxes of produce and dry goods and filled 187 custom orders to help nourish our neighbors across Chicagoland. Giving back to the communities where we live and work is a core part of who we are at GATX, and we’re proud of our employees who continue to bring this commitment to life.
