Thank you for ten amazing years of partnership CVS Health and for all of the work that you do to support women owned businesses 🩷
Breaking through in retail is hard. Breaking through as a female-founded brand can be even harder. Despite women starting businesses at record rates, female founders still receive a fraction of available capital. And in consumer products, that gap shows up everywhere, from manufacturing to marketing to getting a real shot at shelf space. That’s why the work happening at CVS around women-owned and founded brands matters. For the past 10 years, The Flex Co. has had the privilege of partnering with a team that doesn’t just talk about supporting women’s health and women founders. CVS has built it into how they operate. From creating visibility for women-owned brands to championing female leadership internally, their commitment is real. I’m also incredibly proud to be part of a community of founders and brands doing this work alongside us. Many of the women building incredible companies in this space are not just peers, they’ve become dear friends. Grateful for a *decade* of partnership and it was especially fun to reconnect at Expo West this year with our CVS team and so many founders whose brands are also on shelf at CVS Health! A special thank you to Angel Beasley, Sasha Harris, MBA, Shakayla Johnson, MBA, and Courtney Garvey, along with the broader CVS team, for their unwavering work championing both women’s health and the founders who are building to improve the lives of women everywhere. #cvs #womenowned #expowest #femalefounder

We showed up to Expo West to talk about women’s health openly and honestly, with pride and not shame. And you all showed up with us. From longtime Flex users bringing their friends to try our products for the first time, to those who were curious, but needed some in-person guidance, it meant so much to us seeing so many of you excited for modern period care. Grateful for everyone who came by, shared their stories, unapologetically took photos in front of our booth, and helped make women’s health part of the main conversation at Expo West. More of this, please <3 #WomensHealth

The Flex Co. reposted this
This week I had so much fun speaking with Bonnie Wright to a packed room of entrepreneurs at The KINN! Here are 3 key insights from our talk: ✅ People are starved for in-person human interactions and a sense of belonging. For brands building a community, no matter how big or how small, nothing replaces offline/in-person events. ✅ Customer obsession is critical for any business to succeed; whether you’re creating a podcast for kids (Hello Earthling!), designing a marketing campaign, or scaling a multi-million dollar brand… talking to real customers (live) on a regular basis is critical to ensuring that you’re always making something they want. ✅ Founders who build businesses based on their personal values also need to be careful to not be dogmatic about their approach. It’s important to be pragmatic in building products and features based on real user feedback (not just research). When a feature or product isn’t working, dig deep and be honest with yourself so you can change/iterate quickly. It’s better to change and evolve than stick with an idea that is tightly aligned with your vision but simply isn’t working. A huge thanks to Bonnie for being my co-host, and to all of our many friends and supporters who came to listen. We love our Venice community! #femalefounders #socialimpact The Flex Co. #cpg
