  • Tax technology is evolving fast, and expectations are rising with it. Automation is no longer optional. Data strategy is under the microscope. Tax functions are being asked to deliver more insight, faster. Our team will be at Tax Executives Institute's (TEI) Tax Technology Seminar discussing what these shifts mean in practice and how the right technology is helping tax teams eliminate bottlenecks and scale faster. 📅 April 27–30  📍 Booth #30 Stop by to connect with our team and talk about how organizations are modernizing tax to drive efficiency and measurable value. #TEITaxTech

  • There’s a difference between managing VAT and running it. Managing VAT is cyclical. It’s about completing returns and meeting deadlines. Running VAT is continuous. It’s about visibility, consistency, and being able to explain and defend what’s happening across jurisdictions at any point in time. As complexity grows, that distinction starts to matter.  In our latest blog, we bring together a series of themes around scale, control, and operating models, and we set the stage for a deeper discussion on what a more structured approach looks like in practice. If this is something you’re thinking about, we’ll be exploring it further in an upcoming webinar. Register for the webinar: https://lnkd.in/gNkEKWdD

  • Shoutout to our Customer Success team for coming together to collaborate, give back, and grow. 👏 #LifeAtRyan

Earlier this month, the tax.com - Ryan Customer Success team came together at our headquarters in Plano, Texas for a highly productive and energizing few days of collaboration, alignment, and learning. There is real value in being together in person. It creates space for better dialogue, sharper thinking, and the kind of collaboration that builds momentum across a team. I left our time together with even greater conviction in what we are building and the team we are building it with. One of the most meaningful parts of the visit was partnering with The Leaders Institute / Build-A-Bike for a team-building activity benefiting kids through the Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County / Boys & Girls Clubs of America. The experience of working together to build the bicycles was rewarding on its own, but seeing the children receive them in person made the impact especially tangible. Watching them ride their new bikes through our lobby was a powerful reminder that corporate philanthropy, when done with intention, can have a lasting and meaningful effect in the communities we serve. While in Dallas, I also had the opportunity to attend Databricks AI Days, where I spent time exploring the practical applications of AI agents and the broader potential of the Databricks platform. It was an excellent event and a fitting close to an already productive trip. I always value opportunities to continue learning, broaden perspective, and bring new ideas back to the team. Grateful for the chance to connect, give back, and keep learning all in one trip. #CustomerSuccess #TeamRyan #Databricks #Ai Jason Keever Anders Vonderheyde Susan Whittemore Samir AlSalah

  • Most global VAT functions are hybrid by necessity. Some jurisdictions are handled internally, others externally, and many shift over time. The problem is not the mix. The problem is fragmentation. Running VAT effectively means supporting different delivery models within one coherent framework, where status, decisions, and documentation are visible in the same place. We break down what that looks like in practice here:

  • When VAT teams are stretched thin, the first assumption is usually headcount.  But burnout is often a structural issue. If processes rely on memory, manual checkpoints, and heroic effort, growth will amplify the pressure. Rework increases. Oversight multiplies. Stress compounds. Our newest blog examines how scalable VAT models reduce risk and workload by design, not endurance. Because growth should increase capability, not exhaustion. Read more below.

As VAT footprints expand across countries, systems, and service providers, complexity grows quietly in the background. Filings may be completed on time. Numbers may reconcile. But can your organization clearly demonstrate how decisions were made, how exceptions were handled, and where supporting evidence lives? Our latest article looks at why visibility and control are becoming the defining risks in global VAT operations.  Read the full article below or take a look at our full VAT offering here- https://lnkd.in/gGHzPVFa

For something as regulated and scrutinized as VAT, the tools used to manage it are surprisingly fragile. In many global organizations, spreadsheets still sit at the center of the VAT process, reconciling data, tracking adjustments, and preparing filings.  🎉 Today, we are launching Ryan’s VAT platform and sharing the first blog in a new series on how multinational tax teams can move toward a more controlled operating model. The goal is simple:  Not just filing VAT.  Running VAT. This first article explores why spreadsheets remain central to global VAT and why that approach is beginning to break down.
