Collaboration in action! Staff from the City of Somerville Office of Food Access and Healthy Communities, Food For Free, and SFLC came together to coordinate summer food support efforts for local families. Together, they’re helping ensure students and families have access to nutritious meals and vital resources all summer long. ☀️🍎

The sheds were handcrafted by Somerville High School CTE students as part of a project in coordination with the Boston Bruins Foundation and supported by our generous friends at Bosch and Jackson Lumber. As we recognize OST Professionals Week (April 20-24) and Administrative Professionals Day (April 22), the district extends its sincere appreciation to our Out-of-School Time and clerical staff for their commitment, expertise, and the many ways they support our students and families each day!

Somerville High School's CTE Carpentry department joined forces with the @Boston-Bruins Foundation, @BoschUSA, and @JacksonLumberAndMillwork to create two sheds that will be auctioned off in support of the program. Among the attendees at the unveiling were Bruins legend Bob Sweeney, Mayor Jake Wilson, Superintendent Ruben Carmona, and the students who worked tirelessly on this annual initiative, which has raised over $7,500 for Career & Technical Education at the high school over the past two years. @jdwilson76 @bob-sweeney-8625ab32

At this week's School Committee meeting, the district celebrated creative and talented high school students who have been recognized at this year’s #ScholasticArtAndWritingAwards for their creativity and dedication, including two students who were celebrated at the #NationalCeramicExhibition.
