Through in-class engagement, employees are bringing real-world experiences directly to students, introducing them to what it means to think like an innovator while exploring how technologies and wireless communication shape the world around us. By connecting classroom learning to real careers, our people are helping spark curiosity, creativity and problem-solving in the next generation. Investing in the next generation starts with showing students what’s possible. Through our longtime partnership with Junior Achievement of New Jersey, Samsung employees Robert Sim and Joy Lee recently visited Fort Lee High School to speak with students participating in NAF's Academy of Finance program about career growth, leadership, and navigating life after graduation. During the session, Robert shared how his journey began in the U.S. Air Force before leading him to Samsung, where he now works in Go-To-Market Strategy for the Digital Appliances division. He spoke with students about leadership, adaptability, teamwork and the importance of staying open to opportunities even when the path ahead feels uncertain. Joy reflected on her experience as a first-generation lawyer and child of immigrants, sharing how staying curious, welcoming challenges, and building community helped shape her career journey from private practice to Samsung’s Employment Law team. She encouraged students to embrace unfamiliar territory, stay confident in their voice, and be empowered to make choices that create positive impact on others, wherever their careers lead. Together, they gave students a firsthand look at the many paths a profession can take – echoing Samsung’s commitment to exposing students to future career possibilities, strengthening community connections and empowering the next generation to think bigger about what their future can hold.

This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating the many ways motherhood and leadership go hand in hand. For Natalie McDowell, being a mother of two has shaped the way she leads as Senior Manager of the HRBP & Generalist Team at Samsung Electronics America. During the day, Natalie brings a people-first mindset to supporting employees and building meaningful partnerships at Samsung. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, camping and cheering on her son from the soccer field sidelines. She believes many of the lessons that guide her as a mother, like patience, grace and prioritization, also influence how she shows up at work. “As a working mom, I’ve learned to lead with intention and heart, focus on what matters most, give myself grace along the way, and ensure I give my boys someone to be proud of.” With more than 15 years in Human Resources, she credits her parents’ work ethic, the unwavering support of her husband, and her role as a mom, for shaping both the person and leader she is today. Thank you for sharing your story with us, Natalie, and for reminding us that leadership, like motherhood are both rooted in care. #LifeAtSamsung

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re spotlighting the inspiriting partnership between our PRIDE Employee Resource Group and Project Helping – a nonprofit organization focused on improving mental wellness through volunteering. Across the country, Samsung employees joined virtually to create Kynd Kits meant to support and empower LGBTQIA+ individuals in need. Our volunteers spent the session writing letters of encouragement, sharing words of affirmation, and decorating items that would be distributed to communities throughout the U.S. “We shared, laughed and got super creative, all in an effort to brighten someone’s day and support their (and our) mental health. It was a wonderful time! And we’re looking forward to doing it again soon!” recalls our PRIDE ERG leader, Aislinn Rodriguez-Bennett. Thank you to our PRIDE ERG and all our participants for reminding us that the simplest gestures can mean the most.
