Last Friday, the memories came flooding back as our grill day team visited Somerset Skye Canyon @ Somerset Academy Charter Schools — serving cheeseburgers, fresh fruit, vegetables, and milk to make their Field Day even more of a celebration! Saturday was Berkeley Project Day, and we were honored to be part of it. 1,500 UC Berkeley students spent their day serving the Bay Area. Revolution Foods fueled every volunteer with snacks because good work requires good fuel. But more than that, we wanted to show up for students who were already showing up for others! What struck us most? Not only were these students willing to give up a Saturday, but they had so much fun doing it. Thank you, Berkeley Project volunteers. Gena Richardson spent 6 years as a NSLP Director in Las Vegas. Almost a year ago, we were lucky enough to have her join Rev as our Customer Experience Account Manager for the region—supporting the same communities she once served.   Today we announced enhancements to our Las Vegas kitchen: equipment upgrades enabling hot, ready-to-serve meals and the return of Nevada Grill Days.   Gena's been on both sides. She knows what directors need and what students respond to. "These enhancements will have a direct impact in the communities we serve—and that means everything to me," she shared. We need to talk about the students from San Francisco Unified School District who wrote us letters. ✉️💚 https://lnkd.in/gUqHtGGH For years, we'd been researching compostable packaging alternatives to plastic. Cost and performance kept making us hit pause. We knew it was important—we're a B Corp, environmental stewardship is in our DNA—but we couldn't make the numbers work. Then those letters arrived from student advocacy groups asking us to reconsider. To try again. To be curious. To see what's possible. We could have explained why it was hard. We could have said "maybe later." Instead, we said, "These voices matter." So we assembled a taskforce. Reevaluated products we'd shelved. Explored new solutions. And this Fall, we launched compostable trays in 95 schools. Now? We're scaling to even more schools in 2026, with less plastic waste heading to landfills and more proof that when young Earth Heroes speak up, real change happens. To the students who wrote - You're inspiring. Your advocacy turned "too difficult" into "let's figure it out."
