As we approach Memorial Day, we pause to remember those who gave their lives in service to our nation. We honor them with gratitude, humility, and respect, while recognizing the families who carry their legacy forward. This week, members of Primient’s VETS employee resource group (ERG) and allies placed flags along the entrance to our Decatur, IL plant—a meaningful tribute to those who served. We’re grateful to our VETS ERG for helping us stay grounded in respect, service, and purpose.

Primient’s summer interns are off to a great start! They kicked off the week with orientation at headquarters in Schaumburg, IL, before heading to Decatur, IL to experience our manufacturing operations firsthand. While there, the group volunteered with Northeast Community Fund—grocery packing, shopping, and supporting distribution for individuals and families in need. The week also included time to connect and have fun, capped off with a friendly bowling competition 🎳 This summer, our interns will bring fresh perspectives to teams across the U.S. We’re proud to support them as they begin this next step in their careers and can’t wait to see the impact they’ll make at Primient.

Last week, Primient’s Biosolutions team was at the American Coatings Show, highlighting Susterra®—our plant‑based, corn‑derived alternative to petroleum for industrial coatings, paints, and inks. Designed for use in polyurethanes and unsaturated polyester resins, Susterra® supports high‑performance applications while helping customers advance their sustainability goals. During the show, David Löf of Primient presented a seminar, Functionalizing Biobased 1,3‑Propanediol into Reactive Diluents for Resins, sharing insights on how Susterra® 1,3‑propanediol—produced through corn‑sugar fermentation—can serve as a sustainable option for demanding resin applications. Last month, Primient employees came together to support environmental stewardship through volunteering, sustainability initiatives, and community engagement. Guided by this year’s Earth Day theme—Our Power, Our Planet—Primient teams across our locations demonstrated how small, individual actions can add up to meaningful, collective impact. From tree sapling distributions and recycling initiatives to cleanups and school partnerships, these efforts helped reduce waste, improve shared spaces, and strengthen the communities we call home. We’re proud of the dedication our teams bring to this work and inspired by the partnerships that help turn intention into action—on Earth Day and every day after. #PrimientProud

We enjoyed attending the Public Schools Foundation of Tippecanoe County’s recent Spring Grant reception! The Primient team had the opportunity to support local educators and students by funding two innovative, teacher-led grants that bring hands-on, STEM-focused learning into the classroom: 💡Design Without Limits: A multi-tool 3D printing initiative for next-generation learning 💡LEGO Engineering Lab: A program centered on designing and racing LEGO cars We look forward to visiting these classrooms next school year to see these ideas come to life.
