Physiotherapy has always relied heavily on clinical intuition. Matthew Redekopp decided those questions deserved better answers. He practices at two clinics and brought Plantiga in to replace estimation with evidence. His protocol runs five minutes and slots into any standard appointment. Seven movements. Every patient. Every time. One patient arrived at Week 1 loading 70% more force through their injured limb. Not an impression. A measurement. By Week 4, essentially symmetrical and cleared to sprint. Each decision backed by numbers, not instinct. What makes Matt's approach worth highlighting: the data works as a communication tool as much as a clinical one. When patients can watch their own asymmetry improve session over session, they buy in differently. That changes how they rehab. This is Intelligence in Motion inside a clinic. In-shoe sensors + Movement AI → Biomechanics turned into actionable insights.
About us
Plantiga is a an AI-powered sensor system designed for return-to-play and on-field monitoring. Our IoT sensors can be embedded in orthotics, shoes, sock liners, or our insoles to capture individual limb biomechanics, step-by-step, and stride-by-stride. We know that injuries can be mitigated by identifying and training movement deficits, but there is a gap between what can be measured in controlled environments and what happens in the real world. Plantiga’s unobtrusive, wireless sensors enables lab-quality biomechanical assessment in any environment, so you can make better decisions and drive better outcomes.

We love supporting athletes like Spencer Keith Jones as he works to not just improve performance, but stay available. Availability is one of the biggest competitive advantages in pro sport. Spencer takes real ownership of that: he invests in it, measures it, and acts on it. And the results are showing up. He’s been having a huge season and playing a pivotal role for the Denver Nuggets. #plantiga #wearables #nba #sportscience #injuryprevention
If this last month has shown me anything, it’s this: injuries are a huge part of the game, and longevity may be harder than ever for the modern NBA athlete. It’s no secret that the Denver Nuggets have been hit with the injury bug recently. At one point, missing over a third of our roster for a couple games. That’s not just bad luck. That’s the modern game. The NBA today is faster, longer, and more demanding on the body than it has ever been. Pace is up significantly compared to a decade ago. Players cover more distance per game. More cutting, more space, sharper accelerations/decelerations leading to more load on joints and soft tissue. It’s not just miles. It’s accumulated stress. And stress compounds over time. That reality has forced me to think differently about longevity. Not just “how do I feel today,” but how do I stay available over a full season, a long career, and hopefully a decade. For me, that has meant being more intentional and disciplined about recovery and monitoring, and it has shaped some of my early investments and partnerships. - Using movement data and load tracking through Plantiga. - Paying closer attention to footwear and lower-body stress with ANDIEM. - Prioritizing recovery tools like red-light therapy with WellSystem by JK Group - Protecting sleep quality and consistency with tools like Somnee. None of this is about shortcuts or quick fixes. It’s about earning availability in a game that constantly takes from your body. The hardest skill in the league isn’t scoring. It’s staying on the floor. And as the game continues to speed up, I believe the athletes and teams who invest smartest in recovery, monitoring, and prevention will be the ones still standing, durable and sustainable, years from now. Always open to learning from others working in this space, whether athletes, founders, practitioners, or teams thinking deeply about longevity.
