Today, Modern Aviation JFK played a key role in supporting Joby Aviation’s electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) operations at John F. Kennedy International Airport—marking a significant step forward in the evolution of advanced air mobility. As the FBO supporting this milestone, Modern Aviation delivered the ground operations, aircraft handling, and coordination required to safely and seamlessly operate in one of the world’s most complex airport environments. In collaboration with The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, this effort reflects more than a successful operation—it demonstrates how Modern Aviation is actively partnering with leading eVTOL OEMs and airport authorities to prepare infrastructure, processes, and operational readiness for the next generation of aviation. This mission was such a powerful reminder that rescue takes many forms. 🐢✈️🌊 After battling serious conditions like lung infections, liver damage, and severe emaciation, six endangered Kemp’s ridley sea turtles had finally recovered enough to return to the ocean. But New Jersey’s waters were still too cold for a safe release, and a long drive to warmer waters would have added unnecessary stress for these fragile patients. So Pilots To The Rescue stepped in. With pilot Michael Schneider, co-pilot Vas Rajan, Andrea Reiff, and Brandi along with the incredible teamwork from Sea Turtle Recovery and the Georgia Sea Turtle Center, these tiny survivors were flown to Jekyll Island Authority, Georgia for the moment they had fought so hard for. And then came the part that gets you every time… carried to the shoreline, placed gently in the sand, and slowly taking those first steps back into the ocean. Back where they belong. 💙 We’re so grateful to everyone who helped make this mission possible, including Modern Aviation for their generous hospitality and support. Pilots To The Rescue helps more than cats and dogs. We also answer the call for urgent, life-saving missions involving endangered animals.
