Take a look at what real community impact looks like when neighbors, volunteers, and donors unite at Martha's Outfitters. Change happens every single day. 🌟 Last year, with your support and generosity, we helped thousands of families across DC feel seen, supported, and equipped for new opportunities: • Over $2.9 million in savings for families on essential clothing • 10,700+ clothing donations received and distributed at no cost • 97,000+ articles of clothing provided to children and families How You Can Help When you volunteer with us, you're doing more than sorting clothes; you're building a space where dignity, care, and connection thrive. Every shift is a chance to amplify strengths, share skills, and make a tangible difference in someone's life. • Every hour volunteered helps ensure our neighbors have access to what they need • Bring friends or teammates and multiply your impact • Spread the word and help us reach even more families Ready to make a difference? Visit us at Martha's Outfitters this month, sign up to volunteer, get involved, and help us continue this powerful work. 🌟Read our latest blog to learn more and take your first step today! https://lnkd.in/eZ3xdeaF

Had a full week at Risant Health's May DC all hands. Part of the event was serving with Martha's Table at Savoy Elementary. What better way to improve the health of our communities by providing fresh food to those without ready access to that food?

Last Friday, the Martha's Table Baby and Me Program created space for rest, relaxation, and community for the incredible mothers we serve. 💛 Moms enjoyed a beautiful brunch and a meaningful conversation led by Gilbryonna Shaw and The Nu You Inc. centered around what a true village looks like during motherhood. To make the day even more special, several moms received spa giveaways focused on self care and wellness. Experiences like these remind our mothers that they are seen, supported, and valued. Thank you to our partners, donors, and supporters who continue to invest in programs that uplift women and strengthen families.

Last week, our Teen Lounge turned 2! 🎉🥳 In just two years, the Martha's Table Teen Lounge has welcomed nearly 500 DC teens through over 6,000 total visits! -Two years of creating a safe space for teens to connect with one another, share laughter over meals, exercise, and express themselves through art. -Two years of offering skill-building workshops, including photography lessons, financial literacy courses, music making, and career readiness mentorship. -Two years of developing an environment where teens have felt a sense of belonging and have the opportunity to build their own community. The success of this teen space is not only thanks to the guiding community voices who helped shape our program, but also to our partners who work with us in the Teen Lounge every day: -Hearts of Empowerment -The Difference Society -Project Create -WeFit DC, Joe Houston Jr. Thank you to all of our partners for joining Martha's Table in investing in the brilliance of our teens. What better way to start the week than with a day of service? On Monday, DC Bar Foundation staff volunteered with Martha's Table's Joyful Food Market at Ketcham Elementary School in the heart of Historic Anacostia. Martha's Table hosts 50 Joyful Food Markets each month across Wards 7 and 8, giving 6,000 families monthly access to free, high-quality fresh produce and healthy nonperishables. Staff fueled up for the day with brunch at Sweet Tooth Cafe and Cakes, a Black-owned cafe and bakery in Anacostia focused on expanding halal food options in the District. Thank you to our spring interns Janelle Castro and Anand Bhimjiani for planning our day of service, and to Martha's Table and Sweet Tooth Cafe and Cakes for hosting us!

I’m incredibly grateful to Anne Pasmanick for hosting me on the Power Station Podcast. It was a true privilege to share the journey of Martha's Table. Our commitment to supporting the community starts with deep listening, which ensures we move beyond meeting basic needs to building true community. This transformation is about centering our neighbors, treating them with dignity and respect, in a beautiful space where they are seen, valued, and heard. Learn how we connect neighbors with the programs, resources, and supports needed to thrive. Take a listen!
Tiffany Williams on the transformation of Martha's Table to a nonprofit that not only meets human needs, it builds community power with community leaders at decision-making tables. "We wanted to have not just a building but a beautiful space where our neighbors could come and would be seen, valued and heard. We wanted them to be treated with dignity and respect with access to resources, services and the support needed to thrive. When we moved we grew our programming by 40%. We moved in 2018, did our strategic plan in 2020 and that's when the shift happened in the way that we thought about our work." As Tiffany Williams says on this episode of Power Station Podcast, she will not be distracted by this chaotic political moment. She and the Martha's Table team, Board of Directors, community members and volunteers are laser-focused on providing childhood education, food, health services and more to working families whose incomes simply are out of sync with the ability to thrive. At Martha's Table community members are neighbors who advocate for teachers' pay equity, design programs and are invested in their outcomes. And moms who participate in its guaranteed basic income program are experiencing game changing results, including a significant decrease in their stress levels. It takes a special person to lead this work and Tiffany Williams is THAT person. Listen, share and repost! https://bit.ly/4diUPFY

National Volunteer Month is about more than just showing up—it’s about the impact we can make when we move as one. The EEI Black EmPowered ERG spent time giving back at Martha's Table, and the experience was a grounding reminder of why we do what we do. Supporting local families and strengthening the community reflects the very values we strive to uphold—both in and out of the office. A huge thank you to every member of the ERG who showed up with heart. It was inspiring to come together in service and make a positive impact.

I’m excited to share that I’ve successfully completed the Applied Business Science course with a concentration in Project Management through University of Virginia School of Continuing and Professional Studies, delivered by Ziplines Education. This experience helped me strengthen my skills in project planning, stakeholder communication, and process improvement, and gave me a more structured approach to how I manage work and lead initiatives. I’m especially grateful to Martha's Table for investing in my growth and development. It’s a great reminder that they not only invest in our neighbors, but in their employees as well. Looking forward to continuing to grow and apply what I’ve learned in my day-to-day work. #ProjectManagement #ProfessionalDevelopment #ContinuousLearning #Leadership #Nonprofit
