A new step toward smarter #agriculture: today, the IDB and the Rural Development Administration (RDA) of the Republic of #Korea signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation on agricultural innovation and rural development in #LatinAmerica and the #Caribbean. This partnership brings together complementary strengths: Korea’s global leadership in smart agriculture, biotechnology, digitalization, and AI-based solutions, and the IDB’s operational experience, country engagement, and capacity to scale #innovation across the region. The agreement focuses on four key areas: * Digital and climate-smart agriculture * Agricultural productivity and food security * Human capital and institutional capacity development * Knowledge sharing and policy dialogue The IDB will advance this collaboration through pilot initiatives and technical cooperation, turning innovation into practical, scalable solutions that strengthen #productivity, resilience, and food security.

May is #BiodiversityMonth. #LatinAmerica and the #Caribbean is home to one of the largest reserves of biodiversity in the world. However, this potential has yet to translate—at the necessary scale—into growth, investment, or market development. At IDB Lab, we will dedicate this month to exploring a key question: 👉 What does it take to turn #Biodiversity into a real economic opportunity? Over the coming weeks, we will share initiatives, insights, and conversations on how innovation, knowledge, and financing can transform natural capital into growth and new opportunities for the region.
