Staying on Track Starts with Strong Flood Protection 🚆⛈️ In recognition of Texas Flood Awareness Week, we’re highlighting our TEXRail Drainage Extension Design Project, and how thoughtful drainage design helps reduce flood risk and protect critical infrastructure. #IEAInc provided drainage design and H&H analysis services for the TEXRail Extension within the City of Fort Worth. We also completed a separate H&H study to support floodplain permitting and demonstrate zero-impact to the City’s effective flood models. Key Highlights Include: 🛤️ Development of a full drainage plan across three distinct rail segments 🏙️ Coordination with City of Fort Worth Stormwater, Trinity Metro, and UPRR ⛔ Zero-impact to the effective Leslie Creek flood model, despite no FEMA-mapped stream crossings Swipe to see Kyle Moynihan, P.E., CFM, discuss the complex drainage and railroad requirements IEA faced and how we ultimately delivered a zero-impact design. 👉 #TexasFloodAwarenessWeek #EngineeringSolutions #DesignedforYOU

Big Conversations in the Basin! 💡 Yesterday, #IEAInc’s Carlos Valdez, P.E. and Jesse L. Fleming, Jr., attended the 2026 Texas Department of Transportation Odessa District CEI Workshop. The event provided valuable updates on the Odessa and El Paso Districts, including discussions on change orders, work authorizations, and regional priorities shaping the future of transportation infrastructure in West Texas. The program included insightful presentations by TxDOT Senior Director of District Operations, Eric Lykins, PE; TxDOT Construction Division Director, Duane Milligan, PE; TxDOT PEPS Center of Excellence Director, Dan Neal, PE; and TxDOT Odessa District Engineer, Saul Romero, PE. It was a great opportunity to connect with other firms and continue building relationships throughout Odessa and El Paso. We appreciate TxDOT putting together a valuable and informative event. 💼 #TxDOT #CEIWorkshop #PositivePartnerships

A Mile to Stop. A Second to Decide. 🚆 Under favorable conditions with a stopping distance of around 10 feet, a 160,000-lb locomotive at 20 mph would produce an average impact force of about 200,000 pounds during deceleration. Even at that speed, the forces involved are significant. This is why heavy and fast-moving machinery has strict warnings and safety precautions at crossings where railroads intersect roadways. Not only do vehicles cross these areas, but pedestrians do as well. As we continue observing #NationalTransportationWeek, take a moment to swipe through and learn how to safely navigate rail crossings. #IEAInc #SafetyCorner #RailSafety

Taking care of a city isn’t easy. There are many moving parts, and every decision depends on coordination between different stakeholders, including businesses, utilities, public agencies, and most importantly, YOU. 🫵 Your voice plays a role in shaping what your city builds next. Our #IEAInc Municipal Lead, Greg Peters, P.E., explains that: “Public involvement is essential to successful infrastructure projects. Engagement opportunities may vary, but staying informed, attending meetings, and sharing feedback all help ensure engineering solutions reflect the real needs of the community.” For #NationalTransportationWeek, take a moment to learn what’s happening in your local area and consider getting involved in the next big project. Check out previous and upcoming Texas Department of Transportation hearings, meetings, and notices here: https://lnkd.in/g2Cyfk6x #PublicInvolvement #LocalGovernment #TexasInfrastructure

Over 10 years ago, #IEAInc completed the bridge design for the Horseshoe Design-Build project, reconstructing the freeways spanning the Trinity River in downtown Dallas, Texas. For Eric Goucher, PE, this was the first project he worked on, starting his career during the early years of IEA and helping shape him into the Structural Engineer he is today. “Our bridge team was very small back then. I worked directly with my supervisor every day and learned on the fly what needed to be done. It was a lot of hard work, but looking back, I am proud of how it turned out. It showed me what I am capable of and gave me a real look at how fast-paced our industry can be.” We’re kicking off #NationalTransportationWeek by reflecting on our past experience in the industry and how we grew from it. Tell us about the first project you worked on. 💡 #TxDOT #CityofDallas #Flashback
