Yesterday, we joined forces with CenterWell, USAA, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) in Tampa, Florida; San Antonio, Texas; and Nashville, Tennessee, for the VFW’s annual Day of Service with a simple goal of coming together to support Veterans who may be experiencing homelessness. Volunteers assembled thousands of care kits to be distributed through our trusted community partners at the Volunteers of America. Through this simple service act, we helped prepare essential care kits that will reach Veterans and seniors when support is needed most. Veterans deserve more than recognition—they deserve consistent support that protects their health, dignity, and well-being. We’re proud to stand alongside organizations committed to making a meaningful, measurable impact in the lives of those who have served.

Eighty-four Vietnam-era veterans from across Kentucky and Indiana recently received the long-overdue welcome home they deserve. Through the Honor Flight Network, veterans travel to national memorials built in their honor, creating powerful moments for reflection, connection and remembrance. It’s our privilege to support last month’s flight from Louisville, hosted by Honor Flight Bluegrass Chapter Inc. Humana Healthcare Research (HHR) is proud to share that three of Humana’s four managed care pharmacy residents—Lindsey Fronizer, PharmD; John Braganza, PharmD (JB); and Michaela Mahan, PharmD, —were named finalists in the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy Foundation’s (AMCP Foundation) best poster competition for their impactful work with HHR studying GLP-1 and dry eye therapy patterns. The research is designed to help advance treatment access and better understand clinical outcomes for older adults with Medicare Advantage. This national recognition demonstrates the value of evidence-based pharmacy research and reinforces the role of both Humana and HHR in advancing innovative, patient-focused healthcare solutions. It also reflects our ongoing commitment, through our accredited Managed Care Pharmacy Residency Program, to developing future healthcare leaders equipped to make evidence-based decisions that improve health outcomes for our members, patients, and communities.

Mental and behavioral health are central to whole‑person well‑being. Our work focuses on understanding how healthcare and community resources together support overall health. We support tools and partnerships that increase visibility into services addressing social factors like food security, housing and community support. Humana’s Community Navigator® tool connects providers to information on more than 500,000 programs nationwide. This work also includes a focus on supporting veterans and their families, recognizing the unique mental and emotional health challenges that can accompany the transition to civilian life. Beyond healthcare, the Humana Foundation invests in healthier communities. Last year, we committed more than $12 million to initiatives supporting seniors’ emotional health, including mental health services and opportunities for social connection.
