In the fast-growing Houston-Galveston region, the congestion management process (CMP) helps manage and improve the transportation system for everyone who travels in the area. Created by the Houston-Galveston Area Council as part of regional transportation planning, the CMP is an ongoing process, not a one-time plan. It sets goals, tracks traffic and travel conditions, finds and funds solutions, and reviews results across Transportation Management Areas and nearby communities. Community feedback is an important part of this process. To learn more about the CMP and how to get involved, visit https://bit.ly/cmp_hgac.

Our Regional Public Transportation Coordination Plan (RPTCP) team has been actively engaging the community through a variety of outreach efforts. Most recently, we hosted two RPTCP open houses at the Houston-Galveston Area Council offices, where residents had the opportunity to ask questions, share feedback, and connect with collaborating partners in a productive conversation about the future of regional public transportation. The 2027-2031 RPTCP will guide public transportation coordination across the counties in our region. Community feedback is important. If you have not taken the survey, we invite to do so at bit.ly/rptcp. Thank you to everyone who participated and shared ideas to help improve regional mobility!
