When minutes matter, access matters. Care Flight’s new program, in partnership with Renown Health and Vitalant, will carry life-saving blood products on its aircraft to support critical trauma patients during transport, before a patient ever reaches the hospital. Occupational therapy isn’t just for traumatic event recovery; it can also help with many parts of everyday life. Bethany Schirz, MSOT, OTR/L, occupational therapist at Renown, spoke with KRNV News 4 Reno's #WellBeingWednesday about when it might be time to see an occupational therapy professional. 

How do referrals work? 1. Your primary care provider sends a referral and your medical records to the specialist’s office.  2. The specialist’s office may call you to schedule, or you can call them. Processing times may vary.  3. After your visit, the specialist develops a treatment plan, which may need prior authorization.
