What’s one major gap in the U.S. healthcare system? 🔍 Out of over 6,000 hospitals, only 77 are verified burn treatment centers. 😯 The UNIVERSITY OF IOWA HOSPITALS &CLINCS Burn Treatment Center, the only one in the state, is expanding to meet this critical need. The renovation and expansion will enhance inpatient and outpatient care with new patient rooms, hydrotherapy spaces, dedicated clinic areas, and rehabilitation facilities, supporting more comprehensive treatment for patients across the region. Our Commissioning team played a key role in ensuring critical healthcare spaces perform properly by maintaining precise temperature, humidity, and pressurization in alignment with design requirements and FGI guidelines. 🧪🏙️ Advancing life sciences in Chicago! Hyde Park Labs is a 302,388 SF life science building designed to support diverse lab tenants and retail space. The project includes an eight-floor vertical expansion and first-floor renovations enhancing functionality and user experience. dbHMS provided MEP/FP and technology services, collaborating closely with WSP. Our work supports adaptable building systems suited for evolving lab and mixed-use needs. A meaningful feature of the project is the Southside STEM Station, an after-school program that supports and inspires local youth. The program connects innovation and education to Hyde Park’s rich history and legacy of academic excellence. We are proud to see this community continue to thrive through inclusive, engaging spaces that invest in the next generation.
