Nonprofit Tech for Family Wellness | Clinician-Supervised and Community-Driven AI Behavioral Health Support
About us
How we feel about ourselves, interact with others, and overcome obstacles in life makes an enormous difference in our ability to be happy and to succeed. We refer to this as social and emotional wellness, and 80% of educators believe that it is crucial for academic success. curaJOY is a 501(c)3 non-profit that leverages cutting-edge technologies and proven science to create root-cause solutions to improve families’ emotional wellness and behavioral healthcare equity. At curaJOY, the big picture is everything. When we think big, the next step is to think bigger. The behavioral healthcare system is too fractured to fix itself without visionaries to question and push the status quo. Our vision is so big that it can sometimes be hard to capture and explain: to expand the accessibility of behavioral healthcare to marginalized people and forgotten consumers by taking advantage of technology, developing new technology, and using AI - not to replace providers, but to automate the things they do that can easily be accomplished by a virtual assistant. MyCuraJOY is our in-development app that embodies decades of combined behavioral healthcare experience: it will solve accessibility gaps, provide content in the user's primary language, provide HIPAA-compliant clinical data to treating providers, reduce the cost of providing services, and revolutionize research in this area. It's an inclusive digital behavioral health program for all ages that integrates various evidence-based methods, real-world projects and rewards with personalized behavioral support. Participants chat with virtual mentors who look like them, with their choice of diverse-looking virtual mentors who converse naturally and proactively, understand and remember what users say, and deliver guidance and activities from content created by licensed professionals. We work with all members of the family to identify the functional needs behind challenging behaviors, improve communication, and live in harmony.

Kids today are growing up in a digital world that prioritises engagement over wellbeing, and real, positive outcomes often get lost in the process. A world where youth anxiety is rising. Where screen time is becoming an addiction. Where parents feel overwhelmed. Where schools don’t have enough resources to address the growing online challenges children face. And where emotional support is still out of reach for far too many families. This is the problem we’re tackling. With your support, we can build a healthier digital future - one where children’s emotional well-being comes before engagement metrics. Young people aren’t just excited about the future of AI; they are also deeply concerned about how today’s systems affect their safety, well-being, creativity, and opportunities. From bias and privacy concerns to loneliness and inequality, these fears are shaping how young people interact with AI. If we want to build responsible, trusted, human-centered AI, young people must be part of the process. Which concern do you believe AI leaders need to address urgently? #YouthVoices #ResponsibleAI #DigitalWellbeing #curaJOY #MentalHealthMatters #AIforyouth #AIforgood #TechForGood #responsibletechnology

AI is already shaping how young people learn, play, connect, and explore the world. But according to hundreds of children, they don’t feel prepared, and they want that to change. From spotting AI-generated misinformation to using tools ethically, kids are calling for AI literacy to be taught in schools, starting early. Because when young people understand the tools shaping their future, they gain power, confidence, and safety. Do you think AI literacy should be part of the school curriculum? Tell us in the comments below.
