Cans are continuing to expand into new categories – and Crown’s latest partnership is bringing one of Brazil’s more iconic spirits into a new era. Crown partnered with Cachaçaria Matuta LTDA to introduce a new ready-to-drink cachaça range in aluminum beverage cans, meeting evolving consumer preferences while embracing a more sustainable packaging format and unlocking new possibilities for how this centuries-old spirit is experienced. With Brazil’s RTD market growing and aluminum cans becoming increasingly popular, Matuta recognized this shift – and turned to Crown to help them meet this moment. By adding cans to its beverage portfolio, Matuta is able to bring cachaça to new occasions: from the beach and festivals to sporting events and everyday, on-the-go experiences. Working hand-in-hand with the Matuta team, Crown translated the brand’s identity seamlessly onto a new format, ensuring every detail of the brand was reflected on the can. The result is a visually striking can that delivers strong shelf presence while preserving the authenticity of the spirit inside. This collaboration shows how aluminum cans are so much more than packaging for a product – they truly redefine how a beverage is experienced and allow companies to connect with consumers in new and meaningful ways. 2026 is a year of meaningful progress for circularity, with new Deposit Return Schemes (DRS) being launched around the world to accelerate true can-to-can recycling. This month alone, Portugal and Singapore have introduced new collection systems for beverage containers. This is an important milestone that will significantly boost collection and improve the recovery of high value materials such as aluminum. Both Portugal and Singapore have set high performance indicators : Portugal aligning with the EU’s PPWR target of 90% collection by 2029, while Singapore’s nationwide system is aiming for 80% collection. Together, these launches represent a major step toward higher‑performance circularity across both markets and reinforce the role deposit systems play in enabling closed‑loop recycling. For Crown, these systems are critical enablers of a fully closed loop, can-to-can recycling model. High quality collection directly supports higher recycled content in new cans, driving decarbonization across our value chain and unlock the full sustainable potential of aluminum. Beyond supporting these systems, we are actively adapting our operations to ensure they work in practice. As DRS schemes require distinctive marks or logos to clearly identify eligible containers, we work hand in hand with our customers to adapt artworks while maintaining the highest print quality. As DRS adoption accelerates globally, we continue to work closely with industry partners across the value chain to strengthen collection, improve recycling quality, and keep aluminum circulating at its highest value. #Circularity #DRS #Sustainability Photo: Every Can Counts

Crown is extending its global footprint to India! We’re excited to announce plans for a new, state‑of‑the‑art beverage can facility in Northern India. Expected to start operations in H2 2027, the plant will produce up to 2.2 billion aluminum cans per year, serving both alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverage brands. As India continues to emerge as one of the world’s fastest‑growing beverage markets, this investment reflects the rising demand for sustainable, recyclable packaging and our continued focus on supporting customers through capacity expansion. The global beverage landscape is undergoing a dynamic period of transformation. As consumers redefine what “better” means, brands are being pushed to innovate beyond the liquid itself: trends we see firsthand in the growing diversity of designs and SKUs being printed across our global network. As new beverages reach the shelves, packaging plays an increasingly strategic role. And the beverage can, in particular, is at the centre of this shift. In this article published in Packaging Strategies Magazine, we explore how cans are becoming a true strategic brand asset. From functional drinks to low‑ and no‑alcohol formats, aluminum cans are helping brands connect more meaningfully with today’s consumers, while supporting circularity and design innovation. Today, we join the international community in marking the International Day of Zero Waste, with this year’s focus on one of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges: food waste. At Crown, we believe packaging can be part of the solution. Food cans help reduce waste by sealing out oxygen, light, and moisture, naturally preserving food for extended periods without the need for refrigeration. Many fruits, vegetables, beans, tomatoes, and proteins are packed within hours of harvest or processing. This locks in vitamins, minerals, and flavor without preservatives, making nutritious ingredients accessible in every season. The metal food can is often underestimated, yet it remains one of the most reliable ways to deliver nutritious, affordable meals to many households all year long. Beyond reducing food waste, metal cans provide a truly circular and sustainable solution because metal can be recycled endlessly without losing its properties. The Optimum Circularity goals of our global Twentyby30™ program are designed to enhance the circular value of our metal packaging, ensuring they deliver even greater environmental benefits. On this International Day of Zero Waste, we reaffirm our commitment to advancing solutions that protect resources, support nutrition, and reduce waste worldwide. Together, we can make zero waste a reality. #ZeroWaste #Sustainability #CircularEconomy #MetalPackaging

Today, on World Water Day, we are proud to share an important milestone in our water stewardship journey. Thanks to the collective efforts of our teams across our global operations, we have successfully achieved our 2025 goal of reducing water withdrawal by 20%, a key commitment of our Twentyby30™ sustainability program. Our ambition goes beyond reducing our water usage, we are equally focused on restoring and replenishing water where it is most needed. Through strong partnerships with NGOs such as the GWP-MED and The Nature Conservancy, we continue to support water replenishment initiatives in Greece and Mexico, with new projects expanding soon to Tunisia and Jordan. The Ensenada water‑replenishment project in Mexico restores flows to the Colorado River Delta by returning treated wastewater from the Las Arenitas plant to the river system, helping address long‑term water stress for local communities and ecosystems. Through collaboration with The Nature Conservancy and local partners, the project strengthens groundwater recharge, improves water quality, and supports the health of the delta. In Tunisia, our upcoming initiative will focus on working closely with local farmers to promote more efficient water use and irrigation efficiency to reduce agricultural water demand, free water for communities, and strengthen Tunis’ water‑supply resilience. It also raises public awareness on water efficiency and climate‑adaptation practices. These achievements represent meaningful progress, but our work continues. Together with our operations and partners, we remain committed to protecting water resources and building a more sustainable future for all. #WorldWaterDay #WaterStewardship #Sustainability #Partnerships

Do you know how aluminum beverage cans are recycled? To mark Global Recycling Day this 18 March, we’ve partnered with one of our aluminum providers, Constellium, to launch a global learning initiative designed to educate, inspire and engage all our employees around one of the most circular packaging materials in the world: the aluminum beverage can. From the point of collection to the remelting and formation of a new can, we highlight all recycling steps in no less than 11 languages spoken across North and Latin America, Europe, and Asia. We want to empower our people to feel connected to the purpose behind what we do every day, and the impact we can make by closing the loop on aluminum can recycling. Increasing collection and recycling rates strengthen a circular supply chain, and we know that every employee plays a key role in turning ambition into action: they are our best advocates! If you too, want to learn how cans are recycled, visit our website on this page: https://lnkd.in/ezF2ufJD #CrownHoldings #Constellium #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #AluminumRecycling
