Introducing Jordan Hobbs, Project Manager and Team Lead in the Power Delivery department at CobbFendley. Jordan specializes in electric distribution systems for subdivisions and master-planned communities, with expertise in both overhead and underground design. Jordan enjoys the variety that comes with working in power delivery, where every day brings new challenges, client collaboration, and opportunities to solve problems alongside his team. One achievement he’s especially proud of is helping create a new service within CobbFendley to guide developers and builders through the power delivery process. Outside of work, Jordan enjoys anything sports and adventure related, including pickleball, sand volleyball, mountain biking, hiking, live music, and traveling. He’s also a certified drone pilot and a big fantasy football fan.

I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue growing with a team that has already taught me so much professionally and technically. Williamson County recently celebrated the completion of the Sam Bass Road widening project in Round Rock, improving mobility, safety, and connectivity for one of the area’s heavily traveled corridors. CobbFendley is proud to have supported this project by providing Utility Coordination, Design, and Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) services alongside our project partners. The reconstructed corridor now includes roadway widening, intersection improvements, and a shared-use path for pedestrians and cyclists to support the region’s continued growth. I had the pleasure of attending the 2026 South Central Arc Users Group (SCAUG) Conference in Corpus Christi, Texas this past week🏖️ Over the course of the conference, I had the opportunity to learn about emerging GIS technologies, innovative workflows, and practical applications that are helping organizations solve real-world problems more efficiently. From presentations on embedded ArcGIS plan review tools to discussions on survey and asset management solutions, there were plenty of valuable takeaways that I’m excited to bring back to my work at Cobb, Fendley & Associates, Inc. One of the most valuable parts of the conference was connecting with other GIS professionals from across Texas and the South Central region. It was great to network with individuals who are passionate about geospatial technology and to hear how they are using GIS to improve decision-making in their own organizations. Thank you to the organizers, presenters, and sponsors for putting together an outstanding event. I’m looking forward to applying what I learned and continuing to grow as a GIS professional!

Congratulations to Senator Robert Nichols on receiving the Transportation Achievement Award at today’s TAG Houston meeting! After 30 years of service, his impact on Texas is undeniable. The “Nichols” Propositions (1 and 7) have been vital in securing the stable, reliable TxDOT UTP funding that every driver in Texas benefits from today. Mayor John Whitmire also shared a great update on Houston’s infrastructure progress: • Road Maintenance: 700 of the 1,000 planned lane miles for 2026 are already complete. • Funding: $500M invested in critical drainage and road improvement projects. • Collaboration: A focused effort to build a stronger bridge between state and city government.
