At Citizens, we believe financial education should be available to everyone in the languages they speak and in the communities they call home. Through programs like Citizens Money Essentials, we deliver financial education workshops in partnership with community groups, helping individuals and small business owners build foundational money skills and financial confidence. A room full of early childhood educators being celebrated with red carpet treatment and reconnecting with why they chose this profession (or why this profession chose them!) isn’t something you see every day. ✏️ In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, we partnered with The Life is Good Playmaker Project to support the workforce behind the workforce, ensuring the people who dedicate their lives to caring for kids at the most critical time in their development have what they need to stay in their life-changing work. Through a $100,000 grant, more than 100 Boston‑based educators received full scholarships to Playmaker University, including a full year of coaching and community support — all designed to strengthen educator well‑being and retention. When educators are supported, families benefit and communities stay strong. 💚 This partnership is one example of how we’re supporting workforce pathways and community stability across Massachusetts. As part of our continued focus on supporting business owners through pivotal moments, we partnered with Luminary and The Whisper Group to sponsor Luminary: Exit Planning, bringing together founders, advisors, and industry leaders for an evening of practical guidance and candid conversation. Through expert panels and peer discussion, attendees explored strategies around succession, valuation, and preparing for what comes next - gaining a clearer perspective on navigating one of the most important transitions in a business lifecycle. Grateful to our partners at Luminary, The Whisper Group, and to everyone who shared their time, experience, and insights.

  • This Small Business Month, we’re honoring the businesses at the heart of our neighborhoods. We’ve awarded 20 businesses $10,000 each to continue growing and improving their communities. Plus, they’ve each received one year of professional and networking support through Luminary valued at $2,500. • As part of our ongoing focus in workforce development, we recently partnered with Jobs for the Future (JFF) to host a Career Navigation Day at Citizens Bank Park, bringing together students from local Philadelphia schools for a day of career exploration, financial education, and behind‑the‑scenes access. Through candid panel conversations, an on-site career fair with local employers, one‑on‑one networking, and hands‑on workshops, students got a clearer view of the many paths that careers can take, both on and off the field. ⚾️ Grateful to our colleagues and partners who showed up to share their stories, time, and expertise.

  • We’re thrilled to share that we’ve been recognized by Newsweek and Statista as one of America’s Most Charitable Companies in 2026, ranking 15th nationally and highest among New England–based organizations. This recognition reflects a consistent, long-term approach to community impact, one that pairs colleague time, professional expertise, and meaningful partnerships focused on economic opportunity, workforce development, and financial empowerment. We’re grateful to the colleagues and partners who bring this effort to life every day and remain committed to showing up where it matters most.

  • We were proud to host the premiere of Roadtrip Nation’s “Many Roads Forward”, a documentary made possible by us, at the House of Blues Boston, spotlighting real stories of career exploration and skills-based, non-traditional pathways, including short-term learning programs. Together, leaders, learners, and community voices came together to focus on expanding access to opportunity. • Recently, we had the honor of celebrating our Credo Champions. Across Citizens, hundreds of colleagues were nominated and recognized by their peers for consistently leading by example and making a real difference for their customers, colleagues, and communities. Congratulations to all our Credo Champions on this well‑deserved recognition. Thank you for being an inspiration to us all! 💚

  • We teamed up with the New Jersey Devils and the Devils Youth Foundation to host a career exploration event for local high school seniors, highlighting careers in sports and entertainment beyond the spotlight. The event also marked the launch of Citizens Money Essentials for Youth, a new financial literacy module led by our colleagues to help students build practical money skills as they prepare for what’s next. By pairing career exposure with financial education, we’re proud to support young people with the knowledge and confidence to move forward.
