On Sunday, members of our staff, Board of Trustees, and distinguished supporters proudly attended the 71st NAACP Fight for Freedom Dinner. Moments like this should remind us all that the work of freedom is not only historical but our responsibility to carry forward in the present and future. We celebrated the courage of Ruby Bridges, whose bravery as a child helped move a nation forward, and we recognize that same spirit in the leaders and advocates continuing the mission today. The Wright Museum’s programmatic theme “We Who Believe in Freedom” is more significant than a mere statement; it is a call for self-reflection and action. It lives in our partnerships, our presence, and our commitment to stand alongside those advancing equity and justice through the preservation of history. We are honored to stand in solidarity with our community, then and now. #WeWhoBelieveInFreedom #TheWrightMuseum #Detroit #NAACP #FightForFreedom #BlackHistory #CommunityLeadership
