The St. Bernard Renewables biorefinery co-located at the site was uninvolved in the incident and continues to produce renewable diesel fuel at planned rates.

Update 2 of 2 (Final) Dear Neighbors: At approximately 8:15 pm on Tuesday, February 17th, Chalmette Refining shut down several units due to operational issues. As a result, the refinery flared, which is an essential, regulated part of our integrated, engineered safety systems, designed to safely, effectively combust excess gases. The refinery is now running normally. We apologize to the community for any inconvenience and thank our employees who diligently worked to resolve the issue. For more information about flaring, please see our informational flyer below.
