The Community of LGBTQ Centers

About us

CenterLink was founded in 1994 as a member-based coalition to support the development of strong, sustainable LGBT community centers. The organization has played an important role in supporting the growth of LGBT centers across the country and addressing the challenges they face, by helping them to improve their organizational and service delivery capacity and increase access to public resources. Based in Fort Lauderdale, FL, CenterLink works with other national organizations to advance the rights of LGBT individuals and to provide LGBT community centers with information and analysis of key issues. Serving over 300 LGBT community centers across the country in 46 states and the District of Columbia, as well as centers in Canada, Israel, Mexico, China and Peru, CenterLink assists newly forming community centers and helps strengthen existing LGBT centers, through networking opportunities for center leaders, peer-based technical assistance and training, and a variety of capacity building services. Our efforts are based on the belief that LGBT community centers are primary change agents in the national movement working toward the liberation and empowerment of LGBT people. Serving over 600,000 people, they are the heart and soul of the LGBT movement and are vital to our current well-being and dreams for the future. For more: http://www.lgbtcenters.org

  • We’re proud to be a beneficiary of the Elton John Impact Awards – a powerful new platform celebrating the icons, legends and trailblazers shaping a more inclusive world in support of the LGBTQ+ community. Because of this support and visibility from the Elton John Impact Awards, Procter & Gamble and The Looking Out Foundation, we are able to advance the critical work being done by CenterLink member centers all around the country! This year’s honorees – including Jonathan Bailey, Laverne Cox, Melissa Etheridge, Billie Jean King, Orville Peck and Chappell Roan – have driven change, shaped culture and made a positive impact on society. Together, we celebrate their contributions while continuing the work to build a more equal future for LGBTQ+ communities everywhere. You can tune in to the Elton John Impact Awards on June 1 across iHeartRadio stations or via podcast to hear the candid, powerful conversations and stories of impact from this year’s honorees and the organizations that directly benefit from this incredible program, including the perspective of our CEO, DeniseSpivak, on how this grant support helps strengthen our ability to serve the LGBTQ+ community.

  • The Devil Wears PROUD-A!

Listen up gays! It's the first Monday in May and we got somethin’ to say.  This “gender stuff” isn’t just about trans people. It’s attacks on families, medical providers, attacks on you – and we need to fight together now more than ever.   Gender Liberation Movement is holding the line: we’re building power in the streets, in media, and for affirming families of trans & non binary kids. From now through Pride season, we’re raising $250k to make the work sustainable for the long haul. Support our work at https://lnkd.in/eEYixGt6

What if more people knew how to truly show up for each other? 💭 As Sam Demma, CSP shares, being part of #GenBeThere means giving more people the skills to support the ones they love and that kind of care can make a real difference. That’s the power of learning how to be there. Join #GenBeThere and take the free #BeThereCertificate online mental health course to build real skills to support your own and others’ mental health with care, confidence, and intention! 💛 Start here: https://lnkd.in/ezMW8G6K Cc: Jack.org

  • CenterLink is proud to be a part of the next chapter of the  Looking Out Foundation’s partnership with Procter & Gamble. Through this long-term collaboration, @CenterLink and other critical LGBTQ organizations receive sustained support that helps strengthen and support LGBTQ community centers across the country. These contributions directly support centers as they respond to growing needs, expand access to essential services, and remain vital hubs of connection, care, and safety for LGBTQ communities today and in the future. We’re excited to continue this work with the Looking Out Foundation and P&G to drive lasting impact for LGBTQ centers and the communities they serve. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gSmH2tcK

For more than 30 years, P&G has worked to advance LGBTQ+ equality and inclusion — and our partnership with Brandi Carlile’s Looking Out Foundation reflects that long-term commitment in action. Together, we are providing sustained grant support to LGBTQ+ organizations delivering essential, impactful services. By focusing on long-term investment, our work helps these nonprofits to better plan, scale, and respond to the evolving needs of the communities they serve. This is about more than visibility — it’s about creating lasting impact for the LGBTQ+ community while helping build a more equal and inclusive world for everyone. As we mark the next chapter in our work with the Looking Out Foundation, we reinforce our long-term commitment to drive progress through collaboration and care and to uplift LGBTQ+ communities around the world. The Yale LGBTQ Mental Health Initiative is excited to announce that, in partnership with CenterLink (the community of LGBTQ centers), we are offering several virtual training opportunities in LGBTQ-affirmative cognitive-behavioral therapy starting now. This is one of the only evidence-based treatments by and for LGBTQ people, and has received strong reviews from providers in past study trials.   Our training provides continuing education credits from APA and NASW.  We offer student discounts and scholarships.  We also offer discounts to providers affiliated with LGBTQ community centers.  Download the flyer with QR code to share with others. https://lnkd.in/e3EhcwMr
